We chose to stay a short way outside Sintra for some peace and quiet away from the crowds in the centre. What a good choice.
We were given a large corner room with nice views. The building has been sympathetically restored and has a lovely dining/breakfast room. The breakfast was superb and the owner a delight.
As there is so much to see in Sintra we plan to return and hope to stay at Quinta de Sao Tadeu.

A wonderful host, Ana welcomed us to this beautiful place. Nestled in the green hills of Sintra. It's a good location to explore the area. It has bags of character and charm. I would certainly recommend this place to friends.

We stayed in the family junior suite and it was exceptional. I think it is one of the most beautifully decorated houses I have ever seen. The beds were extremely comfortable. The bathtub was incredible, with beautiful, original Portuguese Azulejo. The whole suite had beautiful light all throughout the day, and one can sit on the stone slabs by the big windows and daydream.

Maria was a lovely hostess. She advised us on where to eat and where to go in Sintra. Breakfast we were spoilt for choice! And the set up of the dining room is so luxurious, I'm sure it rivals Louis XVI! It is true however, that you can hear all the footsteps from the dining room above, but that's only around 10am, and we had slept enough and well by then.

It was a complete indulgence to stay here and I definitely plan on returning!

N.B. We didn't have any problems using Google Maps to find the Quinta.

We had a great stay in the beautiful old house. The interieur is wonderful, the room was spacious and nothing was missing. We could bring our dog and the staff was very attentive and friendly. The breakfast was very good and arranged thoughtfully the owner of the house serving fresh eggs and pancakes. It is the perfect location for an enchanting stay in Sintra.

We stayed three days/two nights. Awesome experience, great homemade breakfasts, very helpful owners, gave great recommendations on where to go/eat/etc. Beautiful views and very scenic location. We plan on going back when we can!

The only thing to be aware of is if you need to check in after hours. The first confirmation email has directions and other info. Then you get a second email that has the keyless entry code and your room number if you need to check in after 7pm. However, for some reason that second email always seems to get caught by peoples spam filters (perhaps because it is written mostly in Portuguese?). We never got it and the one night another couple showed up around 9pm desperately knocking on the front door because they hadn't gotten the second email.

Again, we had a great time here and everything was perfect and we'd highly recommend it, just make sure you check your spam folder for the confirmation email!
