We had a very pleasant dinner at La Bodega while touring the wine route in the eastern townships. It is located in an historic old stone building in Dunham with lots of character. They also have a very nice patio, however we decided to dine indoors as it was a still night and the flies were bothersome outside. The food was great and we ordered 10 tapas plates to share between two couples. This was a lot of food and 8 tapas plates for four people would have been plenty. You must try the fig chicken, the empanadas and the lamb. The smoked salmon salad was also very good. The service was very friendly and relaxed. Not a place for a quick meal, but great if you want to relax with friends for the evening. This is a great place to stop while visiting wine country.

We stopped there for our first visit. We had pork and vegetarian paella. Both were excellent! For desert there was not much choice. Creme brule or and turned over apple pie. The creme brule was good but the apple pie was a miss. I recommend they add to the desert menu and there are lots of great desert options in the area.

What a delightful surprise as we passed through Dunham. The little stone building looked intriguing, so we bypassed our usual pleasant cafe down the street. It was a mid-afternoon weekday, so the place was very quiet. We feasted on perfectly grilled trout, roasted vegetables, a lighter-than-air crème brûlée, and wonderfully dark, smoky coffee. The service was warm and friendly. We hope to go back there soon!

Excellent food, the tapas are great, the paella is very good too.
Honest for the price as you get a great plate.
Booking a table was hard ( we had to call twice and on site, they did not have the booking... but luckily they had a free table! )
