We stayed 3 nights in the upper floor suite. It is a very spacious apartment with a seating area facing Lykabettus Hill. Bedroom is comfortable, very bright and has glass windows-doors on both sides. There are also a large terrace and even additional balcony from bedroom which we did not use due to some chilly weather in April. But we enjoyed our inside seating area with a view while having afternoon tea with sweets from local bakeries. Long corridor leads to a spacious bathroom. Honestly, I think that the spa-bath design is too unnecessary fancy and I did not figure out how to use it except as a shower. It was slightly uncomfortable for me to get it and out because of very high bath tub and narrow glass door access. Nevertheless, shower head was wonderful and water pressure was excellent. Needless to say all was very clean.
Hotel personal is young, friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet was good. WiFi worked well. We were not disturbed by street noise to notice it or to comment about it.
We found hotel location as totally safe. Walk to metro station was easy and short; and one time we walked down to Monastiraki without transportation. Archaeological museum is really close to the hotel; and it turned a bonus for us as we went to this museum twice during our short stay. Archaeological Museum collection is so marvelous and rich and grand that one visit is not enough.

We stayed at the Areos hotel for 5 nights in July. At first sight the area 'seems' a bit intimidating, but actually it's not bad. The hotel is well located and many places of interest are within walking distance.

We stayed in a superior room and deliberately requested a room at the back of the hotel away from the main road. It was quiet and very comfy. The bathroom and shower were huge. It was also nice to have a balcony.

The staff were all pleasant, friendly and extremely helpful - they booked a couple of tours for us, explained the metro system and how to get to various places.

Overall our stay was very pleasant and we'd definitely go back.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Areos Hotel in late May, we honestly did not know what to expect as we knew this wasn't a chain but it fit our budget well.

We were so pleasantly surprised by the service, from start to finish. The staff was incredibly accommodating. Our first room was ok, a little outdated but we did love the fact that slippers were included, A/C and location was essential. We realized we would not be staying in the hotel the entire time as the city of Athens awaited us so we weren't hung up on it.

The location was KEY. It is literally in the heart of everything. We walked to all places and never felt scared or uncomfortable. The Victoria metro station was about 5-10 minute walk away which was exactly what we needed to get around everywhere. As we traveled to different islands and would be coming back to stay at Areos hotel, the concierge held our large pieces of luggage until our return, which was CRUCIAL for us.

Here is the real gem of the hotel: The front desk concierge Harris, he is an essential asset to the hotel. His recommendations for food, places to visit, bakeries to stop by, were key in making our stay comfortable and efficient. Being from NYC, we're particular about our food choices, but his recommendations were spot on!

Harris took great care of us and when we returned he kindly upgraded our room and after a long few days of traveling, it was truly a blessing in disguise. This was EXCEPTIONAL customer service. My boyfriend and I were so grateful for his help, we stopped by a famous bakery shop and got him some goodies to show our appreciation for his kindness.

Yes this place is not The Plaza, it is much better. Hospitality was wonderful, the breakfast was delicious, and Harris was a great example of above and beyond customer service.

Thank you Areos Hotel and Harris+staff, we shall return hopefully sooner than later!!

Room Tip: The rooms with the balconies are amazing! They're also quieter.

We stayed at this hotel for one night and both my husband and I could not sleep until 3:30 am. Super noisy street with very poor isolations. Around 3: 00 am when the cars and motorcycles stopped going by the mosquitos kept going. We informed the front desk that we have a very early flight and they said they will have a coffee ready for us since we are going to miss the breakfast. Nothing was ready not even a cup of water.
