Hotel was within walking distance to the places we were planning to visit. We walked everywhere, did not need a bus/metro which saved us some money. Staff was polite and accomodating. Rooms were clean and comfortable, we had a nice view of the Acropolis from our window. Breakfast had a nice variety and was well stocked. The only glitch is probably their wifi, slow and unpredictable.

The location of this hotel is fantastic. A short stroll from the metro station will find you at their doors. It's in the heart of Plaka - wonderful for taking in the sights and sounds. And it's around the corner from the acropolis and the museum. The check in and check out were smooth. The chap on reception was lovely and efficient.
The bathroom was next level teeny. I had to do some acrobatics to get in and shut the door. And the bathtub is an awkward shape with an inbuilt step, making showering a bit of a challenge.
The breakfast was just OK. No stand out items.
If the bathroom were larger and the breakfast better - this hotel would have received 5 stars from me.

Dear Serenade_14,

Thank you for taking the time to share your impressions of Philippos with other Trip Advisor travellers. We are delighted to hear that our staff and the service you received made such a positive impression!
We are though sorry to hear that the room allocated to you did not meet your expectation size wise. The size of the rooms do vary but let me note here that all of them fall within the European standards. Due to the prime location of the hotel, one can certainly be reminded of the saying " precious things often come in small packages". We really appreciate your feedback and are looking forward to welcoming you back soon!

We stayed at Philippos for only one night. The location is great if you plan to visit Acropolis. It is only a 10 minutes walk from the hotel. The rooms are ok. Our room had a small balcony. They are clean but not modern.
Breakfast was average with the most basic things included. Overall a fine hotel for a short stay.

We appreciate your kind comments about the hotel's central location and cleanliness. We are though sorry to hear that the selection of our buffet breakfast which has recently awarded us the distinction of "Greek Breakfast" did not meet your expectation. We very much look forward to welcoming you back soon.

Our room was upstairs, but there is an elevator if needed. Staff is always available to help out if you need anything. Maps, advice...anything we needed was give to us. The deck outside our room was wonderful. Breakfast couldn't have been better. The Greek yogurt was amazing and there was always plenty to eat. Location was also perfect, so central to everything we wanted to see.

Room Tip: Some rooms have an outside deck. Staff can help you figure out what works for you.

This really is a very comfortable small hotel, beautifully clean with helpful and charming staff. The location couldn't be better for visiting the stunning Acropolis museum. For central Athens it is an oasis of calm and surprisingly quiet considering it's location...The rooms are small but perfect and I loved having a balcony.
I very much recommend this hotel
