Pros:
1. close to metro, shops, and restaurants
2. breakfast is pretty good
3. decent price

Cons:
1. They allow smoking in the rooms and there is no such thing as smoking/non smoking rooms. Our room smelled like cigarette was burning, all day.
2. The ac doesn't work well. It was 100+ degrees during our visit and the rooms were not cool enough.

The hotel was well priced and conveniently located in between two metro stations. The room was clean and all the amenities promised were in working order. The reception was very helpful and made our early check out a breeze. The room was fairly small and the view wasn't great but other than that it's a perfect choice for someone who just needs a place to sleep.

The only good thing was the nice receptionist. The hotel is 15 min walk from Plaka but the neighboorhoud is not pleasent at all. The bathrooms need a very urgent renovation and some of the beds are in a very poor condition. I would not recommend

Room: Clean, Not a big room but sufficient for two people, good amenities. We barely spent any time in the hotel due to touring so this was very fit for purpose where we only came back to sleep and shower. Only three downsides of the room was that their plumbing system is interlinked so when you use the shower you experience a lot of temperature fluctuation. Secondly, the walls are very thin so you can hear your neighbours, above, sideways and below. The toilet also has a loud flush. Thirdly, the wifi is very poor. Luckily as we are in the EU I was able to use my data but the wifi is barely useable. Also on a side note, the rooms don't have milk but we bought some from the kiosk near omonia station.

Hotel: Great location - only 5 min walk from Omonia station which is one metro stop from the centre. Or if you are like me and my partner, we walked to the centre in about 20 minutes. Round the corner from the hotel there are some dodgy streets; just be careful and you'll be fine; the main street which the hotel is on is fine. The street doesn't always look safe but it is! There's a kiosk only a few yards away which you can get water and other amenities. Omonia square also has couple of restaurants, patisseries, gelato places etc

Staff: ALL staff were very friendly and helpful. If we needed anything they were always there to help. They have plenty of maps and brochures within the hotel to help.

Breakfast: good for vegetarians and non-vegetarians. Cereals, fruit, eggs, fried toasts, juices etc.

The hotel is close to Omonia Subway station. Location is good. Only a short walk into central Athens.
The receptionion area is nice and modern but when you go to your room (ours was on the 4th floor) you go back into the early 90's or late 80's. We did not expect this. Our room did not look like the ones we saw on the pictures when we booked online. The rooms seem to be in a desperate need for an update.
Breakfast was included but was a total mess. There were not enough tables for the guests. Quality and selection of the food was very poor and staff was not up for the job. We decided to go for breakfast outside the hotel.
The Achillion Hotel is not value for money. I'd stay in another hotel next time.
