Spent a couple of nights here recently and found this hotel very good indeed. Centrally located within easy walking distance to the old town and an easy stroll to the famous Acropolis. Fine restaurants and bars surround the hotel and again are all within easy walking distance

Rooms was very neat and tidy and a very comfortable bed, service from all staff was very good and a very good breakfast was also available

Would not hesitate to stay here again

I stayed for six nights and could have stayed for six years. Walk down the block about 50 meters, turn right, cross the street walk another 25 meters, turn left and you are on your way up to the Acropolis. The room was large the bathrooms were large also with walk in showers and stunning (literally) water pressure. The buffet breakfast was more than enough you keep you going until dinner. Some say that two nights in Athens is enough, I think that 2 lifetimes would not come close. Only one issue, I think it is about time that the mattress in room 3-9 is replaced. It was getting a bit saggy, but otherwise unreserved recommendation.

This hotel is a diamond in the rough. Very close to the famous Athens flea market. A cute little restaurant across the street with live music. Very clean and very nice. We had an awesome, unobstructed view of the Acropolis from the balcony and the bathroom. :) The hotel staff were more than accommodating and super friendly. They even packed me a breakfast bag since I had to leave for the airport at 3:00 a.m. Highly recommend this hotel. Staff member Vagellis was especially friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Ask for a view of the Acropolis.

O & B has a very friendly and helpful staff. They immediately helped us with an early check in when we arrived. Our room was clean, well appointed, had a wonderful view of the Acropolis and the bathroom was huge and amazing. We received a tasty welcome plate as well. I woke up early (time zone difference) and the front desk staff took care of getting me coffee and a place to read while my spouse slept in our room. The location is within easy walking distance of all the sites as well as the Plaka District shopping. I highly recommend O & B.

Room Tip: Highly recommend upgrading to a suite for a view of the Acropolis. We got a Junior Suite and had a nice view out the side.

O&B was a great choice for our recent Athens visit. It's in the Thissio neighborhood, near the metro station, and 5 minutes' walk from tourist-central. First, the hotel is very, very nice, not snooty luxury but modern and well-kept. The staff is friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast is excellent.

The neighborhood looks a little rough around the edges, but we never felt unwelcome or unsafe. By day, the street fills up with vendors selling all kinds of flea-market stuff. There's a mix of shops. And the walls are plastered with graffiti—very cool artwork, actually.

The hotel is just off Ermou St., which leads straight down to Monastiraki and the touristy Plaka district. If being thronged with tourists in souvenir-stall jammed alleys is your thing, head for the Plaka. Otherwise, after seeing the sights (all walkable from the hotel, if you can handle a modest stroll) have dinner in the lively Psyrri district, near the hotel.

O&B doesn't have a roof bar or pool. But if you really want a nice hotel bar, head for a drink to the roof of Hotel Bretagne in Syntagma Square, about a 20 minute walk from the O&B. It's got a great view. It's also rich and snooty, and you'll be happy to find your way back to Thissio.

Look, Athens is not Paris—it's not romance and light. But it's a great and important city, and O&B makes you feel like you're staying in the real Athens, not some tourist resort.
