Food was generally of average quality: Greek salad; roasted lamb (small portions with lots of inexpensive potatoes); dessert; and beer. Meat balls with eggplant: meats ball were bad, but eggplant was good. Chickpeas were good. But the service was quite poor. We had to ask several times before receiving our beer. Same with dessert. And then the dessert came, but the side ice cream was missing in my oldest son dessert plate. And then the missing ice cream came, but the spoon was still missing. Finally also the spoon arrived. And then the bill came and it was too expensive for both the average food and poor service we received. I would not recommend it

We had 10 people of us and we stayed just over the street of the restaurant. So we visited the place twice. And it was amazing! The best food we got from Athens:) So good that some of us ordered second time the same food as first time. Delicious!

The first glance, after passing the threshold of Katsourbos, gives the feeling that you are about to experience something special. Cretans are rightly deserving of the superb reputation for their cuisine after all. The menu describes a selection of specialties that will certainly kickstart the appetite if necessary, with things like Artichoke Pie, Lamb in a lemon sauce, Rooster stewed in wine, and kalitsounia.

The staff did their best to attend to our every need and made us feel completely welcome. After placing our order, our lovely salad arrived. As we indulged in this delightful salad we were informed that the rooster had fled and was no longer available.
We decide to supplement our order with another selection and as the company was great, it wasn't really an issue for us - despite the delay of at least a quarter of an hour.

The artichoke pie was an interesting dish as was the lamb, the wedding rice with goat, and the mouse and "cheesecake" were refreshing.

The taverna is comfortable, the raki is also good, and if you are with good company you could eat much more basic food and still have a great time. Our expectations were definitely not met and it is my humble opinion, that with a little effort this taverna could be a truly great destination.

We loved this restaurant - warmly welcoming and with an inventive menu ideal for vegetarians and omnivores alike. The salad with spiny chicory, figs, pomegranate and cheese; the vast and delicious horiatiki salad with barley rusks; the beans, aubergine and other dishes - all betokened an attentive and talented chef, and the wait staff were excellent. We'd definitely visit again on our next sojourn in Athens.

I was traveling with 5 other friends when we stumbled into this restaurant. The food was absolutely divine! I ordered the pasta with mushrooms and it was one of the best meals I had in Greece. The rest of my group ordered other traditional Greek meals including cuttlefish, lamb, and vegetarian meals. Everyone was very pleased with the tastes of the meal, but the real standout was the service! The two servers were attentive and kind, the cook came to check on us, and they even gave us free traditional salad. It was a wonderful addition to our trip and we would absolutely go again.
