This is a welcome retreat from the tourist offerings. Traditional home cooked authentic food. No frills just decent honest food served in a lovely shaded courtyard. Would definitely recommend this place.

My regular readers know that I have a strong preference for traditional dishes well cooked rather than pretentious décor or fanciful 'improvements'. That's precisely why Doloma is one of my favourite restaurants in Hania. It doesn't look much, it's off the beaten track, totally unpretentious, but Marina prepares the old favourites with unswerving loyalty to tradition. And however tight your budget you need never hesitate to eat here.

A genuine Greek taverna, family owned, no messing about. No flashy views and fancy ways. Nice shade. If you are looking for homemade greek food, that's the best place in and around Chania. And you can discuss and form your order just as you like it. Lots to chose from. Both fish/dorado and meat/stiffado was excellent. Not to mention stuffed peppers/tomatoes. The house wine beeing so smooth and nice that we ended up with a litre. The service - no complaints at all. And prices are more than fair. Thanks a lot! Will definitely come back.

Returned to this taverna after 5 years and was delighted that little had changed. Boureki and Gigantes were superb. Can recommend this place to vegetarian as well as omnivorous diners

Lovely shady taverna behind the Arsenali with well prepared and well priced local dishes. We ate there twice in the week we were in Chania, much preferred it to all the busy, more commercial places along the harbour side. Friendly easy going service, complimentary dessert and raki to finish up with. Should be better known, but then we mightn't be able to get a table next time we're there.
