Great food. We had lamb and moussaka which were the specials and were delicious. And they gave us free cake and sweet wine at the end of the meal.

My family and I strolled down around the harbour in search of somewhere to have dinner and with me being coeliac, it's usually difficult to trust a restaurant at home let alone overseas. Well ... eating at Amphora was beyond amazing. The food was fresh, well presented and excellent portions (and I didn't get sick!) Worth every cent. We had the Mussels saganaki, taramosalata, iemista (stuffed tomatoes and peppers), stuffed vine leaves (dolmathes), Cretan style sausage (Critico loukaniko) and Grilled Haloumi. It was the best Haloumi I've ever tasted and as for the rest, yum! Even my kids (ages 6/10) ate and enjoyed the meal so much that we were forced to get another serving of the Haloumi. The service was so friendly and superb. Will definitely be eating here again!! Do yourself a favor and try it for yourself. You will not regret it!

We ate here at lunchtime and really enjoyed the food so a few days later we returned in the evening. The food was just as good as we remembered.
As well as the food we were impressed by the staff who were friendly without being in the least bit pushy.

Many of the waterfront restaurants look and feel touristy. Amphora prides itself on not hounding you as you walk by and glance at the menu. Refreshing relief. Beautiful view of the harbor. Large outdoor seating area, smaller indoor seating. Service was efficient, not charming. Would suggest they be a little more engaged and welcoming. Food was very good. Traditional dishes, but kids can get a pizza or pasta.
I want to share an observation with the management. At a nearby outdoor table, a couple smoked continuously, even during their courses they kept their cigarettes lit in the ashtray. There was an empty table for two next to them. The restaurant was filling up. During our dinner, we amusingly witnessed 3 different couples sit down, take off coats, look at menu and then abruptly get up and leave. The smoking couple and waiters were completely perplexed. I think it was the smoking. No one in that area was smoking, except that first couple. Your outdoor area is so big, why not consider having an outside section for non-smokers? For what it's worth....

That’s an interesting thought . Greece has not really kept up with the rest of the world in regards to non-smoking, we will consider this idea!

Ate here on our last day of holiday after a day trip down to chania, nice lunches but there was no Kleftico on the menu. that said food was plentiful and tasty with a great view, even had our very own Greek music courtesy of some young lads busking traditional Greek. Lovely relaxed atmosphere all round. Nice touch at the end with free raki and cake.
