This is the first time I ever tried Bougatsa so I can't compare it to others. It's definitely different and it does taste good. However you need to add sugar to make it taste great.

The best mpougatsa in town with great flavor. maybe it could be a little bit less expensive but you can pay for the quality and the hand made leaf.

I'm a huge fan of bougatsa but I had never tried the Chania specialty - 'mytzithra' which is a cheese and not a sweet cream as most bougatsa usually are.
Bougatsa Chania make one product and they do it extremely well. I vouched for some crystallised sugar on top for some sweetness. It was like a party in my mouth!
Tomorrow morning I shall be going for round 3!

We had seen Bougatsa Chania on a show with Chef Anthony Bourdain and wanted to try it. The bougatsa was hot and fresh. The phyllo was crispy and the filling was cheesy...unlike that made in Athens which has more of a custard filling. It tasted like it had Manouri cheese...rich and a bit sour. Very tasty. A perfect breakfast or mid-morning snack with strong coffee. Bougatsa Chania is popular & they run out early so get there by 9am to make sure of a taste.

The cafe serves bougatsa only, made the local way (with sweet cheese) rather than with the cream filling used in "Thessaloniki style" bougatsa.

The cafe is unpretentious and popular with locals. It serves soft drinks and coffees together with extremely tasty bougatsa.

The cafe closes by 14.30 and you need to be there well before then in order to make sure that some bougatsa is still left!
