Very nice hotel inbetween Plaka and Elounda, with dedicated staff that understand what there job actally is... The rooms are devided in levels of hight on the hillside, therefor the ones numbered 600 and higher have the most beautifull views!

Room tip: 605 is splendid, private pool and great view of bay and Spinalonga.

We have recently returned from a weeks holiday at the Sentido Elounda Blu, on arrival we were greeted with cold drinks and plenty of smiles. The hotel standards are excellent including hygiene standards throughout the complex, all the staff we met were both extremely friendly and polite and nothing was too much trouble.
I was quite sceptical regarding having only one Al-acarte restaurant on site but was pleasantly surprised by the variety of the buffet during all meal times with not one day not having a suitable meal, Well done.

The only downside to the whole holiday was we booked a premium room which included terrace with own pool (room 608) incurring extra costs to the price of our holiday, unfortunately we were not able to use the pool or the terrace after 08.30am as the room only got the sun from sunrise approx. 05.30am to approx. 08.30am, which meant the water in our pool did not warm up and remained which can only be best described as "Baltic"
So my advice to travellers thinking of booking a premium room stay away from the level starting at 607 to at least 612 as you wont get any sun after 08.30am. The views however are spectacular.

Negative side over, apart from the pool overall I would highly recommend this hotel to both family & friends

Room tip: Top Tier Premium rooms get the sun

My wife and I stayed here for a week on our honeymoon and it was the most amazing week.
We stayed in one of the suites with a private pool and sea views, the room was fantastic. Very roomy and luxury. Best view in Crete. The private was very cold as didn't get much direct sun light during the day and the room as the very top of the hotel which was up a very steep hill. Luckily the golf buggy was always on hand to drive us up and down the hill. Room kept very clean every day and restocked the fridge every morning.
Hotel it's self is beautiful and perfect for those people looking to get away from it all and relax. Entertainment was every night which was good we especially liked the Greek dancing night they get everyone involved!
All the staff are more than helpful and nothing was a problem for them whatever you wanted. The shop shuts around 6pm which is annoying if you want something late at night.
Good very varied choice always something for everyone. The Asian restaurant is really worth a visit the food is brilliant.
All in all I would highly recommend this hotel and we will definitely return in the future.

Stayed for a week last year, loved everything about this hotel. Would definitely go back. The restaurant served a good variety of food, the bar was fantastic with all drinks made fresh and the pool always clean.

The Asian restaurant on the roof was the highlight of the trip.

We visited the Elounda Blu in June/July 2016 for a fortnight and loved it. We'd last stayed there in 2011 when it was still the Blue Bay and before its upgrade. We'd enjoyed it then, but were even more impressed this time. The renovations and additions have added to what already was a really lovely place to stay.

We stayed in a junior suite with a private pool and it was fab. It's clear that the junior suites have been created by joining two standard rooms together, and we actually really enjoyed the little quirks that that brought - two bathrooms (very handy!), and a good-sized living room with a Jacuzzi bath in the middle. That might be a little odd, but it was great to be able to have a cool bath if we fancied it. The suite also meant we had two sets of patio doors leading out onto the terrace area - which was great. Besides our lovely private pool, there were two very comfy recliners and a parasol, so we had options for sitting in the sun or in the shade. I did specifically ask for a room with a terrace/pool which got the sun, and wasn't disappointed - the sun was on the pool and part of the terrace for a good chunk of the day. I suppose the only thing to say is that the wooden terrace was the source of a couple of slinters where the wood was a little rough. Easily avoided with flipflops though.

Facilities were great - room cleaned daily, and there were sandwiches waiting in the fridge for us on arrival late at night, along with a plate of fruit and a bottle of wine. Also - the bed was COMFY. I'm used to Greek beds being quite hard and not that comfortable for me, so to find our bed had a great comfy mattress made a huge difference.

The food was of a really good standard - a nice mix of Greek and international. We make a point of only staying in places there which serve Greek food. At every meal there was a chef cooking some elements (such as lamb chops or pork steaks) fresh, as well as the range of dishes on the hotplates. As always with hotel buffets, there were a couple of days where the choice didn't appeal to us quite as much as other days, but that was personal taste - it was never bad and there were also lots of tasty dishes on offer. Breakfast selection was fab, and we were really impressed by the choice of desserts at dinner. We did have a few lunches from the bar near the main pool - both eat in and take away to our room. They were freshly cooked and really good too.

The addition of the rooftop cocktail bar was something we particularly enjoyed. Very tasty drinks with a beautiful view over to Spinalonga in one direction, and the village and causeway in the other. Perfect for a sundowner.

The staff were really very good too. Very helpful and friendly - from the moment we arrived to when we left. Always great.

I'd definitely recommend the spa, too. We had our free 15 minute taster treatments and then booked more - one full one for me, and two for my husband. I probably wouldn't use the spa pool and wet facilities, because they're a bit too exposed and next to people waiting for their treatments, but the treatments themselves were very good. When we go to Elounda, we usually have a treat day at the Porto Elounda Spa, which we did this time, but the ones at the Blu were also extremely good. We needn't have left the hotel for good-quality treatments, and pretty good value too.

We didn't use the main pool, but did use the little beach when we couldn't be bothered to walk into the village. It's a lovely spot to swim. Quite deep straight away off the jetties, so you don't need to venture very far from the shore to be in deeper water - great if, like me, you're not so confident about swimming far out from the shore.

The upshot of all this is that we love this hotel and had an amazing holiday. We'll be back there around the same time this year, and can't wait. Unfortunately, we were a bit slow off the mark and missed out on getting a junior suite with private pool this time (although we're keeping fingers crossed for a cancellation so we can upgrade!). But whatever room we have, I know we'll have another lovely holiday at the Elounda Blu.
