The volcano is a must see. We took a boat to the volcano and paid 2.50 euro to get in. There are brochures in most languages to give information on the volcano. We also had a guide that gave us useful information.

In the summer months (august) it is very hot when climbing the volcano. There is lose rock and it is steep.

We recommend seeing the volcano. It isn't everyday you can climb a volcano!

Reasonably easy to walk up, although not a lot to see while you're walking. However view of the caldera from the top is pretty spectacular.

Its probably the main attraction there. Worth a visit especialy if you never seen a volcano before. Lovely views. It is a hard walk on stones though in scorching sun.

Great trip - we took our 7 year old - he loved it especially the smoking vents and smell of sulphur. We found it quite easy to walk - but then we walk a lot as a family. Amazing views at the top. Don't wear flip flops or heels! - like some people did! ha ha ha

If you are walking up the volcano in summer months make sure to bring enough water and wear Sneakers or good sandals. I would say 1,5 liters of water per person would suffice. Also Remember to visit other things than just the volcano on a Day trip. Ex. Therissia or Oia. The volcano Can be done in less than 2 hours if you are in medium shape.
