“A lovely beach, too crowded in the summer”
Review of Agrio Livadi Beach

Reviewed 3 weeks ago

I love Agrio Lividi Beach and have been going there for over 35 years. However, these last years it gets too crowded. The beach beds are too close to one another and you can follow your neighbours' conversation.Yet the sea is clean, you can easily enter and the water is not cold. Whatever the draw backs, I love it.

We got to the beach early in the morning to have nice seats since this beach is usually quite busy. The beach was almost empty. We were about to take an umbrella in the front row when the manager came to stop us. He said the first 2 rows of umbrellas were booked by a cruise company for their passengers and he apologized for the unconvenience promising that if we'd take a 3rd row umbrealla, he'd keep us a first row one as soon as the crusaiders were back to their ship, early in the afternoon. We were a bit perplexed, so he went on for a good 5 minutes saying that the season had been so bad for him, he had to take this deal for the fridays. We pointed out we were returning customers, since we stayed at that beach every day of our holiday last year and we were planning to do the same this year. He, again, repeated his promise of a better placement after lunch and thanked us for our patience and understanding. Whe decided to stay and paid for the day (no receipt, as usual). When the crusaders left the beach we asked if we could move forward and the manager, quite irritated, offered a even worse position (second row, but further from the amenities) while the vice-manager and cashier was offering the front row spots to other customers, mostly greeks, who arrived later in the day. I don't question policies of a private business, they could reserve front seats for your friends and acquaintances, but the terms of the agreement must be clear and respected both by the client AND the business manager. We paid what we were asked, we expected to be given what we were promised. The false promise of a front row seat came from the manager, we didn't ask for it. Clearly our money is not worthy some professional correctness. Maybe this could provide a clue on why the season wasn't so profitable.

A lovely beach with comfortable, clean beds and a taverna with delicious food and drinks served to your sun bed . The swimming seems safe with a gradual slope making access easy.

The local guide on our ship recommended this beach. It was quiet this time of year so we basically had the beach to ourselves. It cost about 5 euros to rent chairs and an umbrella. The beach is a small pebble beach so would be good to have water shoes. The water is shallow so you can swim out pretty far. The water was still cold this time of year!
