Charming old hotel and nice big single room. Breakfast was great, big choice of fruits and vegetables served! Situation close to the railway station and walking district with shops and restaurants was good. Staff was very friendly. Free coffee and tea was served 24/7.

We were three people in a room. Room itself is ok nice. Bathroom feels a bit worn. A bit of noise from party goers in the street during weekends. But hey, it's centrally located. Breakfast is great. For this price I would do it again!

We stayed here knowing it was old but did not expect it to be extremely dirty. Our room also smelt strongly of cigarette smoke. It was very disappointing.
On the other hand staff were great and always friendly. We appreciated them finding a room for us on arrival at 11am even though check in was not until 3pm

Not somewhere I'd stay again.

This hotel is absolutely terrible, quite possibly the worst I have ever stayed at. The entire hotel is in horrible shape and very, very dirty. It is in a desperate need of an upgrade.
In addition to that we discovered a large insect crawling around in our bed just as we were about to go to sleep. Needless to say it was not an option to stay in that room and after a while we were placed in each our single-room. We were told to contact the reception in the morning to get compensated for our trouble and for not receiving the product we had payed for, but the next day we were told that there was nothing they could do since the room was prepaid. They only offered us a free bottle of water which was totally ridiculous.

We booked this hotel just for an overnight and was very aware of that it might not qualify for the luxury bracket. To say the least. But never mind that, even a old hotel of lower standards need to keep their rooms clean. Our room at the Ansgar was not clean. It was not even poorly cleaned, it was down right filthy. With a capital F.
The room was not very well sound proof and the beds was ok. Breakfast was the only thing stopping me from giving it a 1 remark. It was very decent. Service was 2/3 good. Two lads in the reception did a good job but he first girl was a definition of service without a smile. Location was good apart from the noice from the road outside which luckily was not that busy.
