Small portions of food. Few vegetarian potions. Good view of New port. More suited for taking a beer in the sun, and not eating primary eating lunch.

We visited this restaurant a few times during our short stay in Copenhagen. My wife really enjoyed the Sea Food Buffet, just fell in love with it. It is located in the tourist area and one had to go down the stairs for seating and up the Spiral Stair Case to the the washrooms.
The service was good, atmosphere charming and as anywhere else in Copenhagen wines are relatively expensive.

We were 3 people for dinner. Restaurant not full. Waited 10 min for menus. Had to get it ourselves. Ordered one Coke and two water. Expected tap water, but got Pellegrino at DKK 35/bottle. No big deal, but it is normal courtesy for a waiter to have clarified this when he took our order. When I pointed this out, he said it was their policy.....! But offered no apology as a service minded waiter would. Food was salmon, flounder and wienerschnitzel. Mediocre and needed spices. We asked for salt and pepper. Got only an empty salt shaker. Had to go and get pepper and salt ourselves.... This place is not worth a visit.

This busy harbourside is always crowded with people, a very popular place to sit down and eat something. For once we decided to have dinner at Nyhavn fargekro, a chilly evening but with heated terras it was allright.

Ordered a wiener- schnitzel and a plate of the day, mondays special. The schnitzel was like a piece of thick leather and hard to chew away. The potatoes on the special were on the darkside, that is the wrong site of it. Generous with grean peas and potatoes have to say that!

Skip the place is what I would tell my friends, there are so many places to choose from, there must be something better than this.

Prices were reasonable but no value for its money.

As Felix, our Sandeman tour guide explained the better restaurants are usually located in the lower levels below ground. Faergekro was no exception... I trusted them with my money... they responded with a delightfully Pan-fried plaice served with new Danish potatoes and a parsley sauce. Although it is a very thin fish, the chef was able to gauge the cooking just right - moist and flaky at the same time. Be careful with the spiral staircase to the bathrooms - somewhat narrow - a challenge for anyone with balance issues.Of course any restaurant in the Nyhavns area will be overpriced... but the atmosphere is great.
