This is indeed the very best place in Copenhagen to try a high quality Danish "frokost" aka lunch. The Schønnemann Restaurant on old Hauser Sqaure performs well homemade "smørrebrød", classic beers and over 40 types of high quality Scandinavian snaps (aquavit). This is very Danish - where business men, locals and Danes from Jutland, Funen and other parts of Denmark book a table for a wonderful lunch - where history, quality and food make a very nice harmony. If you haven´t tried traditional Danish smørrebrød, ask the friendly staff, so you get the best out of it, and don´t mix the wrong things; the danish lunch is full of traditions and "does " and "don'ts" - dispite the somehow loose and relaxed atmosphere. Expect to book a table in good time. Prices are fair - but high.
