Stayed for a weekend at this Scandic property, which seems like a gem and a bit out of character for the chain (in a good sense). Small scale boutique hotel-ish, which stands in contrast to any other Scandic hotel I've ever stayed at.
As the hotel is housed in a refurbished old building, there are some issues. The lobby area is almost non-existent and the reception no more than a hole in the wall. The elevator... I didn't know they made such miniscule elevators. However, what the hotel lacks, it makes up in other ways. The semi-functional solutions, nooks and crannies and older style gives this hotel its charm. Bathroom seemed more recently refurbished than the room (which however was quite OK in that regard).
Breakfast was in a cosy are and selection above average considering the hotel classification. I was only lacking sliced fresh fruit. Otherwise, excellent. The breakfast hostess was just fabulous, greeting everyone and offering fresh croissants, mindful of those who seemed not wanting to be disturbed.
This is not a hotel for the family or the physically impaired, but great for couples who want a quiet stay at an affordable rate in the Old Town of Stockholm.More
