We stayed at the Rica Hotel Stockholm for two nights near the beginning of June.

We found the front desk staff to be nothing short of helpful and courteous. We arrived in the morning and was fortunate to check-in and get our room before 12:00pm.

The room itself was small, but efficient in layout. Our intent was to explore and tour the city, so spending a lot of time in our room wasn't a factor. The beds were soft and comfortable. Our window faced the popular pedestrian boulevard, Dottinggatan, and was full of people everyday. The windows, when closed, did not let much noise in the room.

The location, for us, was perfect. It was next to a busy and popular square; the bustling Dottinggatan, walking distance to Gamla Stan; walking distance to the Central Railway Station and many more attractions of Stockholm's cultural significance.

There is a sauna for which you must reserve and we found it to be great to use after a long day.

Buffet breakfast was included in our stay. The selection was as you expect from a Scandinavian hotel (scrambled eggs, bacon, assorted meats, vegetables, breads). Unlike other hotels, the staff provided bags and takeaway cups of buffet items, should you want to take some items with you.

Overall, this was a clean, centrally-located hotel.

All night long we could hear a constant thudding and banging through the walls of this hotel. We inquired in the morning and were cheerfully told it was the plumbing! Due to local events(Royal Wedding), we couldn't find another reasonable hotel in the city, so we had to spend another night at the Rica. We both got only about one hour sleep.
We also had to put a towel over the shower drain to block the smell of sewage. We were going to stay in Stockholm for five nights but cancelled our plans and went to London instead!

Stayed here during a unusually hot week in May 2010 for a business trip. The room was small, but had functional space, tea and coffee maker, a fridge and TV. Wireless internet was free and everywhere.

The breakfast was the best part and is served in the huge covered atrium in the centre of the hotel.. For much of the time the roof was open as it was sunny, so it felt like eating outside. They have a very wide selection with lots of healthy stuff and also unhealthy stuff. The best is a 'Swedish deli corner' which has cured salmon, meatballs and pickled herrings. I found it a great start of the day to have a different breakfast each day.

The best feature of the hotel is that it's very centrally located. 10 min stroll to the central station, 2min from a metro stop, and just 10 min walk to the Old Town Gamlastan and all the nice restaurants and bars.

I didn't use it, but there was a spa and jaccuzzi area.

The only bad thing I can think of is that the airconditioning in the room wasn't that great (also in the conference room we were in), so I did wake up a few times when it made sound, and also when I was hot. But given everything else, this was a minor problem.

The Rica Hotel couldn't have been in a more convenient location! So central and close to all the best sights in Stockholm with very easy access to public transport. But really, you could actually walk everywhere from the hotel.
The staff were so friendly and accommodating and the breakfast was totally devine!
Even though the hotel was fully booked and there were alot of people in the breakfast room, there was enough room for everybody, it was well managed and the breakfast was scrumptous, so much to chose from!
The rooms were lovely and clean, beds were fine, it was everything we needed for our 3 day stay in Stockholm!
This hotel is highly recommended!

Rica Hotel Stockholm is a very nice place.

It' s located in the city center where you can go shopping or sightseeing and very close to the night life places, such as bars, clubs etc...

serves delicius breakfast (no experience for lunch and dinner but most probably serves also good)

from the price point of view it' s very well accepted..

one hint; if ou go Stockholm by car and stay in Rica Hotel, there is a Parking area just in front of the hotel and you should inform the staff in the hotel and you should get a ticket from the Hotel. Than it would be ~half price.

have a nice time in Stockholm.
