If anyone is looking to visit this market it's permanently closed until the end of Covid, I'm currently living in Vera and it's disappointing but true. Just hoping someone reads this if they need to so they don't waste a trip.

Lots to browse and masses of great fruit & veg to choose from.
Almost everything available on this market, and you can barter with some stall holders,(just for fun). Its quite a big market, stretches the length of the village, and a bit 'squashed' in parts.
Parking is easy on the village edge, don't try like the locals who park on the beach,it is supposed to be a conservation beach, or so it says on the sign....
Only other small downside is the local Spanish who think it acceptable to push or walk straight into you, they leave their manners at home.
Dodge the shopping trolley springs to mind otherwise great for a stroll round, choose food for dinner and a coffee if you can get a seat!!
Otherwise its a picnic on the beach, where the water is clean, with some local bread, ham, tomatoes and sausage, all fresh from the market of course.

Villaricos market is well worth a visit. Well protected from the sun, the dealers arrive early to ensure the punters are sheltered by erecting covering between the stalls. There are many bargains to be had here. A lovely location near the sea with beautiful views. Cafes are situated at the bottom of the market offering excellent value in breakfasts, lunch or snacks. Parking available but arrive early about 9 00 am; all on same level so easy access for wheelchairs. Recommended for a fun Sunday morning out and about.

Villaricos has a lovely market every Sunday and stretches from start of village by Esperanza harbour to Plays Azul hostal.
Supporting the market all the cafes and bars do exceptional business with many people making the effort to visit .

Everything you'd expect from a Spanish market from plentiful fresh fruit and veg at fantastic prices, through spices and olives to clothes and souvenirs. And people-watching at a group of tavernas in the centre of town.
