Stayed as a solo traveller for 3 nights. Staff are friendly, bathrooms are clean, and rooms are equipped with lockers (locks available for rent at the front). Room had a great view, and the hostel is close to several grocery shopping stores. I had a good stay, and would consider staying here again.

This hostel was great. I stayed here for a week when visiting this beautiful city. I stayed in a private room but also checked out the dorms and they too are comfortable and have great facilities. Wifi available throughout and the toilets/bathroom are clean with hot water and always a free one for a hot morning shower! The breakfast provided at the hostel is all you can eat and its great to start your day with. The barstaff and reception staff are friendly, welcoming and are always focused on making your trip enjoyable with best recommendations on where to visit, tours available and any enquiry you need to make. Cost wise this hostel is great value. The common room is also top notch and you will meet friends for life. I certainly did. This place will always be my place to stay when I go to Reyjavik from now on. Thank you to all at Oddson. Especially the bar staff - Bruno, Snorri and Leke. Bunch of legends the lot of you!

We stayed in a private room on the 4th floor facing the bay with a spectacular view. Planned to stay two days and spent five. Front staff very friendly and helpful. 5 minutes to the old harbour and 10 minutes to downtown (walk). Full restaurant and bar on the main floor and lovely kitchen to use on the 4th floor. Two grocery stores very close by but Bonus has a greater selection. Overall it was a great place to stay.

Room Tip: Take the Flybus from the International Airport and it will drop you off downtown or at the hostel.

We stayed in Oddsson in a hotel room (some rooms are common, hostel-style).

The room was clean and fine. Hot water, cold water (delicious to drink-it's Iceland), coffee, comfortable bed. Raw style (pipes and things :) ). Silent nights. Breakfast ok, nothing spectacular but tasty.

This is not a place to spend time in. But it is great to go and visit Iceland. It has a big, free, parking, is located near old harbour (for whale watching) and at the main road, which you can hit in the morning to go and see places like Thingvellir, Geysir, Gulfoss, Heimaey or Hvitserkur.
You can come back late, sleep well, eat breakfast, buy sandwiches just a few meters from Oddsson, go for adventures.
With no problems in Oddsson, it's just what I need.

This hostel has a great bar and ground floor, if a bit empty. It could be because the place is so big that it lacks intimacy.

I stayed in a 6 bed dorm and it was pretty crammed together. If they just made it into a 4 bed dorm it would have been better. But 3 bunk beds definitely left little room to move your belongings around. There are good sized lockers in the room though.

The whole place just felt very impersonal. Maybe it's just too large of a building for a hostel, maybe it just lacks that unnameable "something" I dunno. I was disappointed as I really wanted to love it.
