Read the reviews on here and it didn't disappoint. Wonderfully rustic surroundings if a little snug but all part of its charm and the fun! We had some delicious monkfish skewers and the delicious lobster soup. It was super busy so not somewhere to spend hours but a great inexpensive authentically Icelandic option.

Eat here for some of the freshest seafood in town. This unassuming restaurant makes for a great experience, only slightly off the beaten path.

Located at Reykjavik Harbor is this hole-in-the-wall "seafood" place. I have the seafood in quotation marks because it really only has lobster soup and a number of fish meat cut in cubes in skewers to be grilled. It is categorized as "budget" meal but with just 2 orders of lobster soup with some bread it cost us around $27. Not quite my definition of budget meal but it is what it is ... in Iceland. The soup was thin but flavorful. There are a few chunks of lobster that were cooked just right, not rubbery. There maybe still some more dining options of the same cost, but we have yet to explore. But in general, expect to spend when in Iceland.

This is what passes for decent, inexpensive food in Reykjavik. A very informal, small, hole-in-the-wall where you order at the counter and find a spot at one of a few narrow, communal tables, visit with other tourists while waiting for your food, and leave when you're done eating to free up the space for the next person. Not a place to linger. The food was tasty (we each had the lobster soup -- thin with only a few chucks of meat, but tasty, and a skewer of fish, which comes with no side dishes). That plus one glass of wine for $73 was what passes for inexpensive in Reykjavik.

The lobster soup was awesome and the fish skewers looked extremely fresh. It is a cozy and unique atmosphere. We sat in the front family style area which was great. Good selection of beer also.
