I stayed at Galaxy Pod for 4 nights in September, in the female dorm. It's not a 'typical' backpackers hostel. It's very clean, friendly and has a calm feeling about it. Staff show you around the hostel when you check in and explain everything. The pods are clean, comfortable and secure. There are lock chains inside so you can lock it while you sleep if you prefer. The hostel is 10 minutes walk from cafes and restaurants and there is a supermarket directly over the road (Kronan). Just be careful of the busy road!
I would definitely recommend this hostel and will return again in the future.

The hostel was great. The pods feel secure and comfortable. Signs up warn others to be quiet and even though we were there on a Saturday night everyone was thoughtful and my daughter and I slept well. The breakfast waffles are delicious! There's shared food if you want a free breakfast. The toilets are constantly being cleaned and restocked. The area is safe and you can park right outside. Excellent all round.

I stayed in the hostel last April in the 12 beds dorm room and It was quite good. The room was huge! It suited me fine since I had a lot of luggages and a plenty of space for them.
Comfy beds and free lockers are available.
It was not the cleanest place on earth, but It´s a hostel so It was ok.
One night is kinda expensive compared to a hostel in every other European country but forget about the word ´cheap´when you travel to Iceland.. so don´t be shocked.
Overall, I was satisfied with the service provided.

Stayed for 3 nights in a 8 bed dorm of quirky 'Galaxy Pods'. Very reasonably priced, especially if you are on a budget. Pods are large and I could comfortably fit in them with no problem (I'm 6 foot 4). Small lockers are issued with your Pod. Nice place to store valuables but maybe slightly bigger lockers could be installed for some clothing? Clean shower room & a very relaxing living room area with chill out music & a pleasant decor. A breakfast buffet is available for a small extra cost (cereals, toast, waffles, coffee etc). Great location. Short walk into the heart of Reykjavik.

The staff were very friendly, you even get a tour of the hostel and a few helpful tips from the staff when you arrive. The beds were very comfy, unfortunately you can hear the other guests tossing and turning but anyone who has stayed in a capsule hotel before will know thiss is the norm. They have a breakfast buffet which I would advise you take as the location is a bit out from the city centre. All in all if I was to go back to Reykjavik, I would most probably stay here again
