Probably the best view for the least climbing work or any hill you might climb. Path to the top of the 250 hill is broken rock and has been improved but is rough walking on the stones. Not recommended without sturdy shoes or hiking boots. Waling stick helpful is you have any balance problems. Great views from the top and the exercise make this a good stop after a bus ride.

This hill is very important in Icelandic folklore, but for a visitor with not much knowledge, it is just a pretty hill climb.

It might irk some to pay to climb a hill but Helgafell has a fantastic view for very little effort. Quaint church nearby and lovely genuine souvenirs in the farm shop manned by the family who own it.

Helgafell is more or less a short walk up a small hill, and the cost is actually steeper than the hike. The story behind it about the three wishes is cute, and we were sure to follow the rules, by being silent and making our wishes once we got to the top, but with so much else to see in such a beautiful country, there are much better ways to spend your time.

Located on a family farm, the top of Helgafell mountain is reached by a 73 meter climb up a steep path. Our guide told us we could have a wish granted at the top if we didn't look back down or talk while hiking up. The short hike is well worth it for the beautiful views. The family that owns the farm has a small building at the base of the mountain and was so friendly. We enjoyed our visit to the "holy mountain" and chatting with them. Small "admission" fee and no restrooms on site. Definitely worth a stop!
