Everyone has their own private space as well as communal areas at Gindabara. We comfortably fit four family groups. Everything you could want is there including a games room, large communal areas and proximity to a calm swimming area.
Everyone was sceptical when my sister suggested a nostalgic family holiday to coochie to mark the sale of our parent’s holiday cottage on the island. But it turned out our 25 year old memories of the island were unjust, we clearly hadn’t appreciated the island’s beauties when were sullen adolescents. Don’t go to coochie picturing a tropical island with white sand beaches. Its charms are its sleepiness, calm waters, friendly locals and striking red dirt.
Bring insect repellent and all food and drinks. There is a small shop on the island but it looks like it has been raided (post apocalyptic style).
Our host was very considerate and prompt in responding even when she was overseas on her own holiday.
I held my retreat at Gindabara and none of us wanted to leave. It was perfect. The accomodation was very comfortable with everything we needed and more. So peaceful and relaxing, like stepping back in time on Coochiemudlo with no distractions. Food for the soul. I am looking forward to holding future retreats here.
