Really yummy seafood linguini and the service staff were excellent! Busy but the staff were accommodating to our request to slow down the meal. Only moan is that for a disabled elderly customer the lighting and small steps proved too much and she had a fall, thankfully unhurt though!

A relaxed evening at our local, the Wheatsheaf Inn. Despite booking a table for early evening in the restaurant, we were partaking in a quick drink in the bar when we were informed by the restaurant waitress we had a table booked and we had to be there now. We had to take our seats early or on time in the restaurant, despite already deciding what we wanted from the menu. The service felt abrupt and verging on rude. The menu offered some good choices but the waitress didn’t offer the special board, which we had to ask for & gave us no information other than the soup of the day! We promptly ordered & both courses were very good and almost made us forget the poor service and rudeness of both inattentive staff. Whilst they stood chatting in the corridor we had to ask for water glasses etc. A great tasty steak in a relatively empty restaurant was very much enjoyed. Despite the eagerness of staff to serve us & get rid of us, their poor inattentive service was the standout feature of the evening, such a shame. A good local pub offering good food -spoilt by poor service- much to do...

You won’t leave disappointed after eating at The Wheatsheaf.
A friendly welcome with plenty of varied beers to choose from.
Couple this with a fantastic menu of fish and steak dishes, together with knowledgeable and friendly staff, which made our evening go without a hitch.

I love this restaurant.
The pub itself is charming with friendly staff.
The restaurant is bright and airy. Again the staff are attentive and friendly.
We enjoyed the roast dinner of lamb and gammon followed by Baileys and white chocolate brulee and chocolate delice.
Roast potatoes were fluffy inside and not too crispy on the outside.
Vegetables were well cooked and I love that it comes with plenty of gravy.
I tried both desserts and couldn’t choose between the two.
I just have to keep coming back here

The Upshall family would like to give their heartfelt thanks to all at The Wheatsheaf for the spendid organisation, presentation and delivery of Phill Upshalls retirement party on Feb 28th.A well priced and beautifully prepared menu, a good selection of wines and a great atmosphere. We would recommend Mark and his team every time.I know it can be unfair to single out an individual but the help and focus of Rosie did not go unnoticed.Thank you again for a Splendid evening..
