Very peaceful location but within easy drive of Gharb, San Lawrence and the beautiful town of Victoria. Also close to the Inland Sea and great walks. Excellent small supermarkets nearby and larger ones in Victoria. Bus stop nearby but probably easier to hire a car which you can bring over from Malta on the regular and inexpensive ferry.
Anthony met us in Gharb and showed us the way to the farm house. He was extremely friendly and helpful and left us some food, a bottle of wine and a hand carved Maltese cross.
The house was very clean and well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The wifi was superfast, the jacuzzi great and we really enjoyed the roof top terrace and BBQ.
All in all a charming place to stay and very reasonably priced.
My friend and i didn't arrive until 1.am as there was a mix up at the airport with our transport but Anthony the owner, spoke to the taxi driver and he was there to greet us when we arrived. The place was absolutely beautiful and spotless,in fact I can't find a single fault.Although it was a fair walk to the shop,we didn't mind as we got to speak to some of the locals.Nevertheless when we did need to use the bus,the stop was right outside the door,so easy to get around the whole island.Special thanks to Anthony who was an excellent host.(We had to drag him from his home one night as we locked ourselves out,he came equipped with ladder and scaled the wall.)Would definitely recommend, can't praise highly enough
The location of this villa is on the far end of Gozo, from the ferry terminal connecting to Malta, but that's only about a 30 minute drive. You really need a car, because the buses only service this area once an hour. It's a long walk to groceries and restaurants. But the location is great. It's very quiet, and has views over the fields and there are churches in the distance. The owner met us in the town square in Gharb, and we followed by car to this property. There is free parking very close. The owner was very nice, friendly, showed us around this villa, and offered to help us with tourist information.
The villa has 3 floors, including the roof top deck. There is an enclosed courtyard with a small pool, perfect for cooling off in the hot afternoons. The ground floor has a sitting area, a fully equipped kitchen and a bathroom with shower. It is a stone constructed home with exposed wooden beams, creating an atmosphere of a typical farmhouse.
The next floor has 2 bedrooms, both ensuite (one with shower). They are clean, well furnished, and well maintained. The rooftop terrace has a BBQ (which may not be usable as the grill was burnt through), laundry area, and seating area.
The views were very nice.
It was a perfect base for touring around Gozo, with all the attractions within a 30 minute drive. We really enjoyed our stay here, in this charming farmhouse.
I reviewed this house back in October 2017 and felt I had to review it again. We’re on the last day of a 2 week holiday and I’m pleased to say that it is just as peaceful and relaxing here in the summer as it was in October. My daughter has loved the house much more this time, claiming the roof as her own personal space, to sunbathe etc.
We’ve had a couple of issues this holiday and Anthony and his whole family have been brilliant helping us out, including being there to let us in very late on the first night when we had a nightmare getting our hire car.
If you want a quiet, relaxing holiday this is definitely a place to consider. If we come back to this area again, I will definitely look to see if this house is available.
