Visited this cafe twice for lunch over the Easter weekend. Lovely setting. Quite an extensive menu. Pizza’s very good as was the salads too. Enjoyed a litre carafe of house wine for 7€. Great place to sit and watch the world go by.

The place has a nice atmosphere located in the middle of a square in Valetta, however the omelette was just awful. The chips that accompanied it were soggy with oil and the salad was sour (seemed like it had been left under the heat for a very long time).

In saying that, the wine was lovely, the waiters were friendly and the pizza looked to die for!
The pastizzis were lovely too!

I wouldn't avoid the place but would order wisely.

ok for a quick lunch but not for a full Sunday lunch. Pigeons all over the place. Staff quite friendly, however not all of them

There are many places better than this. A long wait for food that was barely lukewarm, served with undercooked frozen vegetables.

If you enter Valletta over the bridge and walk along Republic Street about 300 m you will see on your right an old fashioned kiosk, a red post box and a mini taxi stand and further up the entrance to the cathedral. Walk on another 150 m, passing the cathedral museum, the Santa Lucia Street and the arcade in the building on your left. By the end of the arcade you’ll see the street sign and open air seats of Eddie’s and further back on the right the indoor restaurant.

Eddie’s Café Regina is quite nicely decorated in a modern style but as a café there are no table cloths.
I just wanted a pizza this dull Monday night. I knew from experience that their pizzas are quite big so I ordered a small calzone (7.50 EUR). I found it big and totally filled up so I asked the waiter if this was the small variety and it was. So, stay with small pizzas unless you are starving.

I asked for a half bottle of red La Vallette for 6.00 euros about half the price compared to many restaurants. Most desserts were also nicely priced at 3.30 euros so I had a good piece of apple pie.
The total bill came to 16.80 euros which is very good value right in the middle of Valletta.

The only shadow was that when I used my Swedish credit card their card machine gave the price in SEK (Swedish crowns) without asking me first which is a violation of EU rules. I declined paying in SEK as I know that no bank but mine would exchange euros to Swedish crowns without a hefty fee. This could happen to anyone with a card issued in a non-euro country. I say stay away from this racket as a BBC money adviser called it in a TV program. The bank doing this was Bank of Valletta.

In favour of Eddie’s Café Regina I must say that they corrected the transaction immediately and did not get into any discussion. I talk to the waiter and told him the EU rules and what to do with foreign cards and he actually listened seriously. That’s another good point to Eddie’s.
