Description: Malata, historic restaurant in Valletta, serves delicious Mediterranean cuisine prepared by our young chef. A classic is our "Cipollazza stew" or the scorpion fish cooked stew with capers and tomatoes. One-time atmosphere, with a youthful and gritty staff. A dynamic menu and true southern hospitality.

No comment. Tourist trap in the pubblic square, food was disgusted, octopus covered by vinagar taste, rabbit giust eatable, price to high, to much. Never again.

Had a late lunch here today, waiter with a bad attitude obviously doesn’t enjoy his job or just wanted to get home! I had swordfish and husband had tuna, both slightly over cooked and covered in oil. Would not recommend.

We stumbled upon this little restaurant a couple of weeks ago. We were a large group of 11 ladies and luckily for us there was a nice long table outside in the sunshine. Our friendly server, Sebastian advised us from the start that as the food was freshly cooked to order, there would be a wait for the food, which sounded ideal to us. We were made to feel very welcome and relaxed and had a lovely afternoon here. The food was delicious - with such a large group to accommodate, everything came to us at the the same time and all the plates looked and tasted delicious. I would definitely visit this restaurant again and would highly recommend it to those looking for a long relaxing and enjoyable lunch experience.

Had a great meal here of fresh swordfish cooked perfectly and homemade pasta. Family cooking and running is from Sicily. Frederika the new waitress is the best!

Apart from an excellent location in one of the most historic Piazzas in Malta, the food here is ‘just awesome’. Freshly cooked (which naturally means you have to wait longer for your food - approx 30 minutes), but worth the wait. Both the lasagna and the tiramisu were perfect. Accompanied by a glass of wine, some Maltese sun, and surrounded by the family, with attention from the staff, what is there not to enjoy. Would definitely recommend and return.
