The 'walled' old town is definitely worth a stop of half a day.
It is a nice and friendly place with some impressive remains of the past and quite a nice Othello Tower.
There are even a few good restaurants and people are very friendly.
The town is doing its utmost to make the centre attractive and has nice parks with a lot of flowers.
A good place to spend a few hours and have a lunch.

Thank Theofiel

lovely to walk round inside the walls, shops and eateries. make sure you go behind the big mosque as there are some nice streets and restaurants there too. lovely in the sun, plenty of places to stop for a beer and watch the world go by. lots of historical interesting buildings aswell.

This was a highlight of our trip
The cathedral which is now a mosque is well worth going in because it has been very well converted into its present form
Also make time to try and climb the walls but do take care because they are very uneven and steep stairs
The shops are very good and very welcoming

Thank colin a

The Famagusta Walled City is such that if you have the time you need at least two visits to appreciate all the old girl has to offer.
Plenty of thought has gone into the renovations which continue today. Away from the Tourist Hub there are many examples of Old Famagusta and these are the Gems. Time will be your biggest foe with so much to see and there are plentiful Bars, Cafes and Restaurants to keep you refreshed. Many Tourist Shops will also give you chance to get a reminder of your visit and the Memories will last a lifetime.
