“A gorgeous place to stay”
Reviewed 24 November 2011 for a stay in October 2011

We booked Santorini Penthouse directly with the owners and the whole process was incredibly straight forward, We originally booked for the appartment for our family of 4 but at short notice a couple of our friends needed emergency accommodation for a couple of nights so we contacted the owners Peter and Amanda who said yes straight away (and there was no charge!!), in fact they couldnt do enough to help and provided lots of helpful insider info about the resort and surrounding area from car hire to places to eat.
The resort is only about a 15 minute drive from the airport and the owners have an on site agent who we called once we had collected our car and he met us at the security gate and escorted us to the appartment, explained how everything worked and gave us the keys - a really great service.

The location of the appartment is great with good access to two of the pool complexes and only a 5 minute walk to the resort centre. The Penthouse itself is stunning - the pictures on the web site don't really do it justice. The appartment very spacious both inside and out - it swallowed a group of 6 - and it is beautifully furnished and maintained. Although we were self catering it felt like 5 star self catering with lots of nice little touches like the fresh rosemary sprigs tucked into the fluffy white towels that were provided. The place has all mod cons including huge flat screen in the lounge, Ipod doc, DVD player and loads of DVDs for kids and adults, gas BBQ and every kind of kitchen kit you would want on holiday.

We loved the all the out door spaces at the appartment, there was the BBQ terrace, the breakfast and lounging terrace, the kids terrace and the hot tub terrace - what can I say. The hot tub was a huge bonus as the pools on the resort are not heated and were a bit cold in October and although the kids were happy to get in the cold water, a warm up in the hot tub afterwards was the highlight of their day.

The site itself was great we used the restaurants and coffee shop and the kids loved the play ground which has good kit and a nice bit of shade. We did use the local shop for basics on the first morning and while it is very convenient for little bits and pieces and early morning croissants it is, as you might expect expensive, so we shopped at the local supermarket in Pissouri which was a really great experience and the kids loved it.
There are lots of places to eat at Aphrodite Hills with a good ambience and good service but the food and drink while plentiful, is quite pricey and the quality is ok but not in line with the price. Tthe kids menu is pretty much the same in each restaurant and its the usual chicken nuggetty fayre however the portion size is enormous and the price is reasonable so we did use the on site restaurants a couple of times. If you prefer quality and price to convenience tho there are some fantastic restaurants just 10 minutes drive away in We Pissouri, we loved Limanaki which was fab and would really recommend going a bit further a field to find the really good places to eat.

This has been our fourth visit to Aphrodite Hills, but the first to the Penthouse. We love Aphrodite Hills for all the facilities, making use of the spa, tennis and new children's play areas.
The Penthouse was fantastic for our group with the flexible bedrooms and range of outdoor areas. The outdoor spa was brilliant as the Cyprus weather was not warm enough for the outdoor pools this time !
Our daughter loved the DVD collection and the ice from the fridge ! The adults enjoyed the various decks and comfortable living areas. All in all a fantastic choice in accommodation. Highly recommended.
