It was one of those places that we had looked at for many years and never stayed there, our curiosity got the better of us and we did it...
It is indeed an experience, quirky, interesting and adventurous and is what it is, we just did bed and breakfast, the place is very clean and the rooms are cleaned and bed linen changed every day, couldn't fault the care taken, we turned up one day when they were mid cleaning and the attention to detail was great.
The breakfast is pretty much standard in that it was a mix of continental style with cold meats fruit, cereal yoghurt etc, a hot breakfast consists of bacon, European style sausage, scrambled boiled and fried eggs, fresh bread and rolls, jams etc. depends upon your requirements but was plenty for our minimal needs from a breakfast.
The pool area is small and quirky, but clean, very closed in and a little cramped when busy, although we did not eat the evening meal at the hotel, we always ate out, but one evening we did fancy taking in the entertainment outside at the poolside / patio bar area, we sat pretty near to the stage and had a good view, however, as I smoke, I was swiftly asked to move to the actual bar area to do so, this is a small area in front of the bar in an area about 15feet square and has no view of the entertainment, we didn't bother again, the bar area is enclosed and therefore smoke is far more likely to offend people than being in the open air in the entertainment area, I have respect for non smokers and would never sit near anyone that didn't, but heh, that's the hotel rules as daft as it seems.
Anyway, the staff were extremely helpful and couldn't do enough to please, to the extent that on our first night we were woken by a loud engine type noise from above our bathroom which started about 0230 and went on till 0830, didn't sleep a wink, when I reported the fact to Irena on reception, she investigated it, found that the hotel boiler timer had been changed, she got it reset and we slept superbly for the rest of our holiday, so hats off to Irena and the staff.
The location is superb, minutes to bars, restaurants and shops and places of interest including the harbour and the Tombs of the Kings.
We always feel that you should take all the positives from a holiday and not let anything spoil it, we did exactly that and had a fantastic time, thanks to the staff.....

Room Tip: There are no sea view rooms, but higher rooms may offer a view toward the sea, ground floor / baseme...

Visited The Roman Boutique with my partner for a weeks holiday from the 3rd September 2017 its true by some other comments it looks like a museum from the outside but its truly a wonderous place fully of murals and paintings gorgeous lol the swimming pool looks tropical surrounded by pretty lush flowers and greenery the rooms spacious for two and decorated to beautifully we loved it and loved every day spent here.the hotel staff delightful alway smiley and lovely to talk to especially Mananna and Irina on reception who were extremely helpful so thank you so much for having us and forgot to mention the food to die for plenty to choose from breakfast and evening and i think to a russian style menu maybe which was great because there were no english chip meals lol WE hope to frequent once more in the future and we both recommend boutique so get yourselves there if you want a quality experience thank you HNT MJD .

Room Tip: A pool view is a must.

This is our last night at the Roman Boutique I hotel.
It really is an unusually decorated hotel with it's Greek and Roman frescoes throughout the whole building. Floor to ceiling wall mirrors, panels of fake fur here and there and lots of timber doors and handrails.
The rooms are a decent size with telephone, TV with limited channels, mini fridge, excellent wi-fi in the rooms, massive bed, hairdryer (not a very powerful one though), a couple of electric sockets, large dressing table with huge mirror, balcony with chairs and table, three door wardrobe and a nice, clean but dated bathroom.
Tiled floor throughout our room so if you drop anything you can probably call it broken.
The desk staff were friendly and polite, the restaurant staff not quite as good but efficient at clearing and resetting tables and keeping the various containers topped up. Usual European buffet breakfast, fruit, yoghurt, cereals, cheeses, meats, bread, tea, coffee and fruit juice on the cold buffet. Hot buffet has bacon, sausage, beans, mushrooms, two or three different egg products but nothing is ever piping hot and the bacon is always streaky not back bacon.
The pool is not very big and unfortunately the potted plants look way too big to be round the pool. There is a tree growing close to the pool and it's branches are hanging over the pool now so there is quite a lot of shade if that's what you need.
The hotel is situated on Tombs of the kings avenue immediately across the road from Kings avenue mall. The avenue is usually busy but there is a light controlled crossing just round the corner from the hotel reception.
It is a 15 minute walk down the road to the bus station, free car park and harbour but be aware that due to building work there is a section of footpath on both sides of the road which is hardcore, not paved.
There are quite a few good restaurants, snack bars and bars within a 20 minute walk of the Roman, if you have children who like a burger king or mcdonalds then there are a couple of those also (burger king in the shopping mall and mcdonalds on Tombs of the kings avenue).
As we didn't have evening meals in the hotel we cannot comment on the quality, quantity or value of the hotel food, we much prefer to shower, change and have a steady walk to a restaurant then lounge on the seafront with a beer or iced latte.
Within walking distance is the Tombs of the kings which is cheap enough(€2.50) but it lacks a place to get a drink if you forget to take one in with you.
All in all the hotel does exactly what you want it to, provide a place to clean up and kip without too many frills.
There are plenty of places in the area to hire a car at reasonable rates if you need one.

We have just spent 3 weeks in the Roman and we really enjoyed ourselves. Don't be under any illusions, it is 3 stars so don't go expecting super luxury. That said it is clean, comfortable, quirky, the staff are lovely and the pool area is gorgeous.

We were bed and breakfast so only but we felt that it had everything you could want and was very tasty. We did eat at the pool bar most lunches and the food was lovely. That said it wasn't fast but then you're on holiday, what's the rush?! The banana milkshakes were lovely.

The pool area isn't huge but it doesn't open until 10am because it is used as a breakfast area in the morning so you don't need to get up at 5am to bagsy a bed! There is another pool in the Roman 2 which is just over the road. It's a rooftop pool so there is no shade at all and the pool is smaller and shallower. I only went up for a nosey once in the two weeks and it was deserted. The pool bar wasn't open and there was nobody there but you do get nice views of the archeological park.

It is excellently located; opposite the mall that has a supermarket in it, 15 minutes walk from the harbour and right on Tomb of the Kings Road which has loads of bars and restaurants (it took me about 20 minutes to walk all the way to the Tomb of the Kings).

The only drawbacks for me was that the beach which is five minutes away wasn't very nice but there is a bus stop two minutes from the hotel for you to get to Coral Bay which is gorgeous. The other thing was that the hotel bar wasn't open at all when we were there but you have so many on your doorstep (try Bens on the corner) that it wasn't a deal breaker.

Someone went to a lot a trouble to put together this quirky hotel, inspired by a Roman villa. The details are everywhere!
The location is excellent right across the street from the Mall with easy access to the harbour, tombs and mosaics.
Breakfast is modest.
