Stayed here a week and it is in perfect location for skiing lift up mountain. The atmosphere there is so friendly and homely. All the staff are brilliant, especially Sarah and Kelly. Stay here and you'll have a great time.

The only reason for the excellent rating is the food. Four of us booked this hotel at the last minute and it was excellent value. The rooms were nothing special, maybe even a little run down; the ‘short walk’ is a steep hill; the bar for Andorra is pricey, however the food (remembering its half board) after a full days skiing is simply amazing! My advice would be to hire a locker at the foot of the chairlift and if you fancy some après ski, stop of at the hotel half way up the hill for their happy hour and great views. As for the rooms you’re there to enjoy the outdoors! :-)

This is a very friendly hotel which I would recommend. All the staff, especially the hotel manager were very friendy and did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable, including providing us with dinner on arrival at 11.45pm !!!

The hotel has a lively bar which is on the route of most of the pub crawls in the area (just make sure you aren't in the room above if you like your sleep) and an excellent restaurant which is an excursion at extra cost from other hotels in the area.

It is only a short walk to the lifts down the mountain in the morning, and after a hard days snowboarding / skiing a baileys hot chocolate in the bar is well worth the walk back up !

Visited January 2004The Hotel Alba has recently been acquired by two ski instructors John Pickett and Pires Taylor and undergone extensive improvements. This includes a new intimate restaurant, a residents lounge and a lively bar with a pool table and a table football. They have 25 mini suites for 2 - 6 people, all rooms have en-suite bathrooms, a TV, a telephone and a fridge. For meals they operate a half-board system, breakfast is a continental help yourself, a full English is available for a small supplement. The dinner exceeded my expectations where you have a choice every night from three starters, three main courses and three deserts. They also have a full 'a la carte' menu with a good selection of Spanish wines. It is situated approximately 300 meters from El Tarter high-speed chair lifts, allowing access to the whole ski area of the Gran Valira. The main attraction of the hotel is the friendliness of the staff, they are all willing to assist with any small problem - they even help out with hangovers ;-). This is where they exceed customer expectations, you are guaranteed to have an enjoyable stay with them. For more information visit their new web site ******** or give John or Piers a call on ***********
