While Graz may not be on everyone’s list, it’s a convenient stopover for anyone headed to Vienna from former Yugoslav territories. Great location in the center of the old town, with easy parking nearby, spacious, clean and charming rooms, a knowledgeable and helpful staff. Breakfast is available and no need to preorder.
I was just in Graz for the European Figure Skating Championships and a friend booked us in this hotel for the duration of the event. While the charm was not lost on me (quaint, former hospital, walking street), that’s where it ended. Who still uses keys in hotels? No laundry service and no attempt to help in that regard. I had a “suite” and the sofa was pulled apart to make two (unneeded) beds, making it impossible to watch the TV in the room. The breakfast was very nice, rooms were warm and clean. If you’re on a budget, you’ll probably like this place. If you’re used to modern conveniences, nope.
We recently visited Graz as our Daughter did a semester exchange in her final year of Law School. We stayed the the Hotel Mariahilf in room 351 which was a Suite (large). The Hotel was great with respect to location...only 3 stops to the Main Train Station. The Hotel has an old school feel and our room felt like we were in the attic of an old farmhouse...but in a good way. Some reviews mentioned that the floors were creaky and noisy..it didn't bother us and to me, it just added to the experience. There was no street noise in our suite and was very quite The included breakfast had some great options and the service was friendly and efficient. I'm a Lifetime Titanium with Marriott and have stayed in many hotel rooms (some luxury) and this was a clean hotel and a great experience for my wife and I
This hotel is ideally located for city centre near the river. It is a 30 minute walk from main railway station but tramline stops at the end of the street. There are several lines which go to and from railway station.
The hotel is quaint, the rooms are a bit dated but clean and a decent size. It has a lift for upper floor access.
Breakfast was good with a buffet style help yourself very limited hot food selection.
Staff are excellent very friendly and helpful. You can purchase tram tickets at reception.
Hotel is on a mainly pedestrainised street, a two minute walk takes you to the river in one direction and to the main shopping street in the other direction.
The hotel is in a good location being a short walk from the city centre on the other side of the river. The room was basic and no frills. It did not have air conditioning and we had to open the window for cooling during the heat wave. The breakfast was well-supplied with a variety of food types.
