Excellent check in, help with local attractions and map. Less than 5 minutes to train stat. 15 to 20 minutes to old town. Breakfast was good, choice of fried or scrambled eggs, juices, cereals , ups cold meats. Most hotels in Europe don’t seem to have air , so have to have window open. All in all decent value and would stay again.

We arrived in the room and noticed a foul smell hanging in the air. It was not clear whether this was from the previous guest or lack of cleaning that day. When we checked the bathroom we assumed that the guest had a great dinner last night and felt like he needed to leave a gift to this excellent establishment before checking out.
We decided to open the window to let the air clear out and left to visit the beautiful christmas markets of Graz.
When we returned we were faced with a familiar odour. It was not clear how this smell has returned to haunt us. We have decided that the room is cursed and that this great fart of a Habsburg ghost is now forever part of the place. The bathroom is also haunted but the smell is even stronger. Our three day journey to Graz will forever be remembered by this sensation.

The hotel was much nicer than expected considering the other reviews. The check in the was easy and the man was very polite and spoke perfect English. The room was spacious and pleasant. Even though it's next to a busy road, we didn't find it very noisy. The only thing we did not appreciate was the Haribo sweets containing gelatin (there are many vegetarians and vegans these days so please consider changing to a sweet without animals).
Hotel looks nice on the site but once you get there is disappointing!
First, I had to pay 8€ for parking. The hotel doesn't actually have a car park, it is just the road behind!!!
Second, the room was like an oven!!! Small and extremely hot, no aircon or fan available.
Rooms are noisy and you can hear everything going on!!!
i arrived at 1:30pm.... the woman st the reception told me the room is not ready yet , check in time is 2pm. the way she said this made me not welcome...she not even looked at me when she was talking to me. she said i could let the luggage behind her desk and go out...i replied i would like to sit here and wait until 2pm...her comment " whatever". i went to a small lobby room and asked if they have WiFi...'YES' and keep ignoring me...when i asked if its not too much to give me the access code, she rolled her eyeballs and went to the desk to give me the code...i explained her very clear if this is too much work for her just tell me...i will change the hotel...allover a really bad attitude...she just doesn't care.
2pm there was another person at the desk. all good until he told me that Kurtaxe ( a kind of holiday tax in the region) is not include the room price...ok...no problem. Its 1,40Euro per nite per bed...i had double room for 2 nites...so its 6Euro .... even after a long journey ( from HK) it doesn't made sense to me...of course i didn't got a receipt for the 6 Euro but lets see when i check out how they explain to me 1.40 x 2x 2= 6 Euro.
Another one: the wifi didn't work at 2nd floor...i told the reception ...what i should expect? the answer: " 2nd floor always works fine in the past".... cant believe it...of course ...no one fixed it...why they should ?
