Me and my girlfriend walked this last week and fully recommend the 7k hike to this peak. Halfway up we took the wrong route and ended up at a bar at the top...
Cute bar with 2 lovely local.dogs to greet you. Not much English though.
The walk itself was brilliant and had great views over Innsbruck.
At the start it was fairly easy walk but as I said we got lost and it was so tough then.
Even though, it was so worth the hike.
Fully recommended.
Please be aware that Bus 34 takes you to where you want. I dont recommend starting at Igls though.
Enjoy.

Because of high temperature the snow was good till 2pm.
The restaurant from up there was pretty cozy with good food and hot chocolate.

It was pretty decent but not at all challenging if you can ski. No one queues so a bit irritating. The bus driver told us to get on when we asked about going back to Innsbruck but then proceeded to drive to every nook and cranny then delivered us back to where we started, after a day skiing not very helpful.
They really need to sort out the shuttle busses if they want to combine the city with the slopes.

We got one free access to all mountain lifts on the Innsbruck card and after going up the Nordkettenbahen and having an amazing time decided that we would go up to do some walking and take some photos.
We were quite disappointed as if you are not a skier there is not too much to do at the summit. took some nice photos and there is the olympic sign at the top, but thats about it.

After not having skied for 20 years, the opportunity to ski the Alps was too good to pass up. We took advantage of the Ski Skule and the Intersport ski rental shop at the mountain. We enjoyed a wonderful day of skiing even with no recent snow, as well as enjoying the gluhwein during our breaks.

At Patscherkofel, there is also the Olympic Bobsled Run. This is a "bucket list" item. The best way to get a reservation is to contact Innsbruck Tourism rather than try to contact the Bobsled track. When we were there, everyone spoke English but the one day I tried to call, the person answering said he didn't speak English. We took the bobsled ride. I believe it is the taxi bobsled, where there is a driver, a brakeman and two riders. The ride starts at the men's start line and you have the thrill of riding the same course as Olympic bobsledders. Our ride averaged 72 miles/hour, during the one minute ride and was a thrill. After the race, you go back to the Zielhaus and pick up your certificate and your time should you desire. All of the staff are very professional and take their job seriously. Although it was 90+ Euro per person for the ride,it was worth it and one of the highlights of our trip to Innsbruck.
