I am very glad we chose to take the boat over train/plane between Vienna/Bratislava. The boat cabin was clean and the seats were comfortable (recommend paying for reserved seats and sitting at the front of the boat). Snacks are available for purchase or you can bring your own. The deck is open for fresh air and views as well.

The highlight of the trip was seeing a few castles. Just lovely!

I went from Bratislava to Vienna in the end of August and planned to get the last boat of the day willing to see the sunset from the river. SO WORTH IT!!! I can't think of a more beautiful scenery. The boat was going in the direction of the sunset and it was 1h30 of pure bliss. The boat is very comfortable with a small cafeteria. There is also an external area to sit and observe nature around.
At any other time of the day i think that would be an ordinary boat ride, since there ins`t much to see around. Taking the bus is faster and cheaper.

I had a return ticket from Vienna to Bratislava. It is well worth while paying an extra €5 to get a front seat as the views along the Danube are stunning in both directions are stunning. It is always calm as you are on a river but because the current is strong it takes longer on the return trip to Vienna, in fact, on my return trip we actually arrived 30 minutes late, so budget for this if you have other things planned.

We had cycled from Vienna to Bratislava and had booked an afternoon ferry with Twin City back to Vienna. We arrived very early and were given excellent local information by Adriana about things we could do in the couple of hours we had. We hadn't expected to see much of Bratislava, but she guided us to the bus tour which was leaving in 15 minutes and would be back before our ferry left. It was wonderful. We had a great tour of the old city and were even given directions from her on where to get the best ice cream, without enduring line-ups. Our bicycles were stored securely while we went on the tour. Very helpful, very cost effective. And, these ferries run on time.

We recently travelled form Vienna to Bratislava on the Twin City Liner. It was a good experience and I'm glad we did it. Its a good way to travel down the Danube and see the little fishing houses.
