Located on Schwedenplatz in a building shaped like a ship's bridge, the twin city liner offers cruises to Slovakia as well as city cruises in Vienna.

The cruise to / from Slovakia includes cruising through the city as well since the cruise starts from the city center and also offers scenic views over historic attractions like the Devin castle and the Bratislava castle. The cruise back from Bratislava was included in my tour and was great.

The city cruise has several options and depending on which option you take, you will get to see either grafitti covered walls or lush greenery. I took the cruise recommended by the city tour guide and was rewarded by lush greenery on the banks. A highlight of the cruise was passing through the Danube locks which was a first for me.

The city cruise is a calm and relaxing way to escape the hectic city life and is definitely recommended.

We were only in Vienna for a weekend and so whilst this isn't the cheapest option, it fit in really well with our travel plans and limited time. The tickets were easy to book - recommend booking in advance at busy times and boats were fast, clean and had a nice range of snacks and drinks on board too. This is a great way to see another city / country and the boat ride itself has some nice scenic views and announcements along the way to tell you what to look out for. We really enjoyed our trip!

Costs 30 euros each way to travel by catamaran between Vienna and Bratislava. Speedy way to travel, only taking one and a quarter hours to Bratislava and one and a half hours for return journey ( extra time due to flow of river Danube). You get nothing included for this price and may even have to pay extra for a seat providing a better view.

Most of the journey has tree lined riverbanks and it is only when nearing Bratislava that the scenery improves. You pass Devin Castle perched on a hill overlooking the river and then, approaching journeys end, Bratislava castle appears also perched on a hill.

The boats were clean and the crew were pleasant. We got the 08.30 catamaran from Vienna, there is also a boat at 09.00, and the 14.30 from Bratislava, there is also one at 16.00.

Anyone over the age of 60 should try to travel on a Tuesday as there are special rates of 22 euros each way. Book early though as we tried to book on Monday for following day but both early morning boats were fully booked.

We picked two ways trip to Bratislava, left early in the morning and come back in the evening so we enjoyed the morning sun and sunset on a pacey boat. The trip itself on Danube is pretty nice and one can spot Devin castle and a spectacular view of Bratislava from Danube. The bar had everything you need for an 1 hour trip and even if the trip back to Vienna takes a little longer due to navigating against the stream we had a well deserved rest after walking all day long trough Bratislava's historical city center. Definentely an original way to visit Slovakian capital

Very fast but relatively expensive way to get from Vienna to Bratislava and vice versa. The journey was smooth and everything was ok.
