What a wonderful find! We spent a week at the Hollmann and loved every minute of it. What makes it special? The staff. They are warm, thoughtful and kind. We felt welcome the moment we walked in the door. The room was very nice and the lighting inspired. Loved the shower! The sauna was great too -- very clean and it definitely helped my terrible head cold. Wi-Fi is included in the price as is breakfast. The breakfasts are AMAZING -- fresh pastries, breads, homemade yogurts, fabulous coffees, meats, cheeses, fruit and cooked breakfasts too. And a great chicken soup (also a boon for my cold). The Hollmann is close to everything -- we walked everywhere and also took advantage of Vienna's clean and efficient transit system.

This is a very discreet hotel. I wouldn't necessarily recommend it for people who rely on concierges and 24-hour room service (I believe the staff is off duty after nine), but if you're comfortable with this, it's well worth a stay.

A little quibble or two but they don't detract from my five star rating -- a clock in the room would be nice. So would some paper and a pen.

We adored Vienna and will visit again. And we'll definitely stay at the Hollmann, no doubt about that.

Room Tip: The bigger the better.

I stayed there for my boyfriend's 30th this weekend. Overall we had a great stay: the reception staff was helpful, the room was lovely and quiet and the breakfast quality was great. A few BUTs however..: 1. The heat! Please turn it down a bit! In the rooms it is fine but in the lobby/living room area it is just too much. 2. The breakfast service. We arrived around 9 on both days, and the breakfast room was..busy, to say the least. All tables were dirty, we had to wait 15 minutes for one of the waiters to set up a new one. On the Sunday, I think we stayed seated for about an hour all in all to have 2 fried eggs.. The food was good and you could see the waiters wanted to do well but I think there weren't enough of them, it was just too slow. 3. Last but not least...we stayed in room 24 and instead of having one big bed it was 2 beds put together, with two duvets. It is just a shame when you are on a romantic weekend.
All in all, a good stay but it could have been even better :)

This is a delightful place. The staff are uniformly cheerful and helpful, the rooms are large and well-equipped, the bowl of fruit in the bedroom is replenished every day, the breakfasts are substantial with a wide range of foods on offer, the hotel's location is wonderful (three minutes walk from the Cathedral), there's an honesty bar and a small cinema where they show The Third Man - and other films - every day, and there's free wifi throughout. A real gem. My only caveat is the temperature is sub-tropical: even in November, it was far too hot and we had to open the windows to cool ourselves down. But that is a minor quibble.
