Really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The staff were super friendly, hotel clean and quiet and the decor/vibe is so nice! I had the basic room which I found perfect, nice large comfortable bed and a decent amount of space. I stayed on the fifth floor and it was super quiet. There's a 'free tea' station in the hallway with five types of tea, hot water and takeaway cups/lids. The room came with a tablet for browsing and a mobile phone with data that you can use when out and about/to make calls and send texts.

Location is also pretty good. It's probably about 5 mins walk from Wien-Mitte station which is in a small shopping centre with some restaurants/shops and supermarkets; really close to the Hundertwasserhaus area; and about 20 mins walk to the city centre. Alternately, from the S-Bahn you can get to Stephansplatz within 5 mins as it's only 2 stops away!

If I ever come back to Vienna I would definitely look to stay here and will look to stay in other Ruby hotels in other cities :)

On our first family trip to Vienna for the holidays, we started at the Ruby Sofie and it felt just like home. Loved the lobby decor; the happy hour and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Hats off to the great front desk staff, as well. We had lost a purse on the train and the staff helped me fill out a lost and found report (as many of the questions were in German/Austrian.) Eventually, the purse was recovered after we returned to the U.S. and through some helpful folks, it is now back with us!

Loved this hotel. The staff make you feel very welcome as you walk in. The main lobby is lovely with a very hip modern vibe. A little bit further away that i would have liked but if you want to the main area, you see some great places. so no issue with that.
Also the Amps in the room are a nice touch so you can play some good tunes.

I stayed at the the Ruby during ECR this week [big radiology conference]. The entire hotel has a distinct [and welcome!] personality. Dinner at the Room restaurant was great. Drinks and sandwiches at the bar were great (they let us use two Taylor guitars to play for a couple of hours, awesome!). Breakfast was simple but fine. The room I had on the 5th floor was quiet, well laid out (enough room to do some quick work). All in all, highly recommended for the business traveler looking for personality and a great staff.

Room Tip: My room on the 5th floor was quiet - no view.

We stayed this hotel during this New Years’ time. Vienna is a very pleasant city to visit at that time. It was very festive.

The hotel looks nice from outside, but the receptionist who checked us in was arrogant, which was disappointing.

The room was very clean and beds were comfortable. The decoration is contemporary. The toilet and shower are around with glass doors. So we had to remind each other not to walk to the hand basin when one of us was having a shower as the curtain only covered one side of the glass walls.

There is no a kettle in the room, but you can get drinks from Galley Kitchen at the middle of corridor. It would be difficult when you carried two hot cup of teas walking back to the room as there is no cup lids provided, and you had to hope there wouldn’t be anyone just coming out from the corners.

The location of the hotel is really convenient: 16mins from Airport to a shopping mall near the hotel by CAT, then less than 5mins walk to the hotel;
easy to walk to the tram, you can purchase your tickets on your phone app or buy at the machine; different restaurants with short walk distance, such as Viennese,
Chinese, Japanese, Korean cuisines; if you don’t want to walk, there is a restaurant called the room is just at the ground floor of the hotel providing some fusion dishes.

There are plenty of choices at breakfast bar at reception. The staff at breakfast were very friendly and pleasant. In the first morning we stayed, there was a bottle of soy milk along with normal milk provided, we were so delighted with the considerate option. But never saw the soy milk again from day two.

The weather at that time was around -2 to 3 degree. At least a waterproof thick coat and a hat could be considered to take with you.

We will definitely go back to Vienna again.

Hi Jasmineteapot,

thank you for your feedback. Nice to hear that you had a good time in Vienna and that you liked so much about our hotel. Thank you for your hint concerning the cup lids, we’re still improving and are thankful for the feedback of our guests. We try our best to welcome our guests very warmly and with a little wink. We are sorry that you may have had a different impression during your check-in. We usually always provide a plant-based milk alternative and are sorry if we ran out of it during your stay, that shouldn’t have happened.

We hope to welcome you again soon.
Your Ruby Sofie Team
