Good value food in Tromso, still expensive but this is at the lower end of expensive!

Reindeer stew was tasty and hit, lovely harbour views and a relaxing place to sit and relax

The location is beautiful, close to the water with beautiful scenery.
I strongly recommend the Reindeer Stu, it was very tasty.

The location of Kaia is good, being on the harbour and the quality of food is nice. The prices however are on the expensive side (yes I know Norway is expensive). We visited here on our last night and for two main meals with two drinks cost us £760 NOK!
Service was OK and if you get a window table with a view across the harbour you may just see the northern lights opposite. We were fortunate enough!
Food quality was very good but just be aware of the cost.

First night in icy cold Tromso found us wandering harbour-side for the views before looking for a place to have dinner. There are many dining options in this section of the town and it is a matter of whether you want seafood, pizza or a roast dinner. Not all options were yet open for business so we wandered into this restaurant after reading many menu boards. It is cosy inside and if you are lucky get a window view table and watch the city lights across the water. The menu choice is generous and typically expensive. I wanted seafood so settled for the snow crab as entrée and had fish for main. The meal was hearty and filling. Lots of clients seemed to be enjoying their meals too.

I tried the sliced reindeer stew and it was to die for. Never imagined the ingredients would mix so well. Loved it!
