Nice hotel, clean, good food, friendly staff. The beach was so so. My 11 year old had a good time. Close to Straits Quay which has some really good restaurants. We got a suite facing the beach, and had a nice view.More

will definitely go again. clean, and spacious rooms. but lacks in security.their access card is non functional for the lift, meaning any stranger can go up to the room floors.... or maybe it was like that during my time there.

Arrived early and was desparate for a shower before my meeting and was greeted by Ms Anjana who listened to my request and quickly found me a room with an upgrade.
It made my short stay on Penang Island a delight with a clean and comfortable room. After a stressful day a cool drink at the Cafe and a delightful view of the beach and the sea was refreshing.

I am disappointed with Mercure Hotel Tanjung Tokong maintenance. They have a poor maintenance inside the hotel.
The room was clean. But the toilet tiles has some like chocolate drinks stain which the cleaner don’t really clean it.
The bath towel is worst. They provide the torn towel, which makes me dare not use it. I am doubt is that for shower or for the floor mat! (Bit ridiculous with the wear and tear towel!) because this is not a budget hotel.
We are staying facing main road room on level 1, is still acceptable, it’s not noisy. I still can have my sound sleep. It’s just they need to improve on the wear and tear item and cleaning part.
Location still consider not too far away from town, 2min walk can have 24hours convenient store.
I don’t take the photo, because I get fed up with the bad maintenance. I feel disgusting.

It was an enjoyable stay. Recently I returned to mercure and enjoyed it even more. My second stay at Mercure. En. Zulzhafri, the sales manager is the person to contact, if you wish to stay at mercure, he is so helpful. Mr.Vicky, manager, is a wonderful person, very helpful. This is the hotel that listens and practice the 'customer is king'regardless of local or foreign. Truly I enjoyed my stay. best service, food is nice (must try the kuew teow for breakfast, dhall is nice goes well with the roti canai), wonderful seaview, clean. i will surely return to Mercure. very peaceful stay and i will recommend it if you wish visit penang - this is a place to stay.
