We visited Namco Funscape yesterday evening for a game of bowling as a family. All the lanes were being played when we arrived so we were told that our lane for two games would be free in half an hour. After paying nearly £30 for two games for four people we went and sat in the bar for a drink.

Having paid for our games we sat down in the bar area. As we sat drinking our drinks we couldn't help but discuss the state of the place. It just seemed very run down and in need of some work and TLC! The carpets were disgusting and sticky to stand on! It was unclean and just generally not a nice place to be.

On playing our game of bowling we realised that the bowling balls were old and probably hadn't been replaced for years, and also the barriers for the lane were broken and wouldn't allow us to push them up. Again we were disappointed and disgusted with the state of the place.

The toilets were horrific, the woman's toilet appeared as though it hadn't been cleaned for days and was in definite need of an update, whilst the men's toilet and urinals was overflowing with wee! Absolutely disgusting! When consulting the manager he replied 'well nobody's told me', assuming that there isn't even regular toilet checks carried out!

Will definitely not be returning, and will take our custom to king pin.

Although there was no staff at the front desk, of where we would assume was reception, instead of leaving my partner suggested we went to the bar and see if there was any staff members.
A lovely young lady I believe named Anna served us our drinks, was very apologetic for the lack of service at our arrival and furthered to call another member of staff to help our needs at reception, accreditation to the young lady as she was working hard alone at the bar as well as helping us with what another persons job should have been and for turning our bad visit into a friendly experience.

Went for a pre Christmas trip here and won't be returning. The staff were extremely unhelpful and rude and looked at us like a piece of dirt. This place is quite dirty, the bowling lanes don't work properly and there were quite a lot of drunks in the bar area, certainly the language being used was not suitable for young children. It was very expensive, 2 games for £30, when we phoned to book we were told that it would be equivalent to 2 hours, we were finished within an hour! The food was good though. Will now bowl at Martlesham where the staff are friendly and extremely helpful.

The place is filthy and run down the shoes are awful and the bowling lanes are broken with the kid's rails down the side's all bent up also the bowling balls have seen better days.
The arcade part is worse with half the machines broken and in poor order add to that the amount of tokens needed to buy something that is cheap anyway is ridiculous.
It looks to be run by kids with no adult supervision.

We visited here after using bowling as a reward for my 3 yr old son behaving all week - got here paid & were placed on a non functioning bowling alley complained 3 times (having to queue each time then being told lane 13 bumpers don't work - so why put us on it!) then asked for a refund as the bumpers didn't work & kept getting stuck. Manager came over and told me he expected me to manually pull them in & out - when the staff did this for us he had to walk half way down the alley in order to get them out properly! There were sharpe bits of metal on the bumpers & was simply dangerous to even attempt it. The manager refunded the money for bowling after a battle but refused to refund the £20 we had spent at the bar on refreshments which we then had to leave as we went to a bowling place that we could actually bowl at! Avoid at all costs!
