There has been a lot of work to up date the pub but it looks like a cafe now, my beef dinner was ok, but they didn’t have food that where on the menu, I don’t think I will have a return visit

Been meaning to visit for ages and popped in for Sunday lunch today. Absolutely delicious!!! Hubby had roast pork and I had sausage & onion pie; both meals had piles of veggies, roast potatoes, the works! Wish we'd visited sooner; we'll definitely be back.

Came here with large group from a club for a Christmas meal. Tables were attractively decorated with Christmas items and crackers, very festive, and we received a warm welcome from the hosts. Meals were pre-chosen but plenty of choice. Three courses - all delicious, and the hot food was piping hot all plated up.Will definitely book this place again - both individually as well as with our club!

We were sceptical about dining here after reading the negative reviews. We visited on a Sunday lunchtime. Yes it was busy. The restaurant was warm, the décor a bit plain. Our food was delivered promptly. It was delicious! Most of us had a traditional roast dinner, it was hot and tasty, plenty of it. The staff were rushed off their feet but were coping(just).
I highly recommend this pub. Our experience was very pleasing. Just one note, the majority of the guests were of an older age group, obviously keeping up the tradition of having a Sunday roast dinner! Thanks to the Chequers.
