Easter Sunday and our first visit, taken by a friend who lives locally. The table reservation system seemed to work well. Although people were sitting at our table, with our reservation in front of them, as soon as we appeared they got up immediatey. Sunday roast was served with buttered, creamed or vegetables with cheese but when I mentioned my dairy intolerance the chef offered alternatives that I appreciated. (However the baked cauliflower cheese looked so appetising I was really disappointed I couldn't eat it!). Portions were generous and well cooked and we all thought having individual gravy boats was a good idea. Today, most customers were half our age but we were welcomed and felt comfortable and will no doubt return ........ especially as the TV was turned off and lots of cocktails available were available!

This used to be a great bar, now sadly the bar staff are far too cool to serve you, brash and disinterested!

We come in quite a lot so thought we would try the half price burger night, and it did not let us down! Food came out very fast, all tasted delicious, and excellent staff both waitressing and on the bar.. could not fault anything good work!

Decided to go for dinner on a Tuesday night and as usual got in to find all the tables had a reserved sign on which was fair enough. As it was twenty five past 6 we sat at a table which was booked for 6pm and asked the waiter if we could sit there as they had not turned up. We were told yes that was fine and if they did not turn up in 5 minutes we could order food. Ten minutes later we were just about to order and the people turned up and we were asked to move. We were told there was a table we could sit and eat at as long as we were left by 7,30 as there was another booking then, We agreed that would be ok and ordered food and drinks within 5 minutes. We then waited 20 minutes for our drinks to turn up and this was only after we pointed out that we had not been given them. At 7.25 when our food had still not turned up and people were arriving to sit at our table we went to a waiter and said we had to go. He did apologise and said he would get our bill for our drinks. I did say you are seriously not going to charge us for them as through no fault of our own were not able to eat. His response of I have already knocked some money of our bill because of the delay did make me laugh as these were the only drinks we had ordered. Once he realised this he apologised again and we left.

We ended up going to a local Italian restaurant around the corner and were treated like royalty and because of that will be returning there again as soon as possible

Maybe the problem at the Moose tonight was due to the fact they had their opening night in Bournemouth and some of the staff had been shipped over there. All I can say is don't take your locals for granted and I hope it is not a case of a company getting too big too soon!!!

Very poor service behind the bar! We came in at 8pm on a Saturday night before dinner. It was not busy and yet it took us 15 mins to get a drink. The bar staff seemed very slow and no idea how to serve in order.
Three times here and always the same

Thank Nicola N
