Had a birthday lunch here on a Saturday, we were a party of six adults and a 5 year old, the table was a little cramped in the corner but we managed. We were offered drinks and informed the soup of the day was carrot which two of our party ordered but didn't enjoy as it was carrot and coriander and was extremely thick. The Hors d'oeuvres were limited and not as good as a previous visit. The carvery was good and hot with the usual choice of veg but the Yorkshire puddings were dense and heavy. Two of our party wanted the fish but were not told it should be pre-ordered until they went to the carvery server, by the time the fish arrived the rest of us had nearly finished our meal. The desserts were disappointing too, ok if you like chocolate, pecans or fruit on the cold plate and only apple pie on the hot. Three in our party had the apple pie but for some reason had to wait for apple pie and ice cream whilst the one with custard came out straight away, this meant again waiting whilst people finished they're food. We were served coffee and tea but the milk tasted of washing up liquid and was to be honest disgusting and ruined the end of the meal. Overall a very disappointing meal from an establishment that should and can do better.
On a positive note the maitre 'd was very good but i'm sorry to say it was the younger staff that let us down.

Just come back from a fabulous meal at the Country Kitchen. Delicious food, lovely staff and a wonderful atmosphere. Many thanks to the manager Andrew who looked after us so well. Thank you also to the chef, Bobby, who cooked my mother the most delicious sea bass!

Went with 3 others for a meal, having been there some time ago on this visit we were very disappointed. Salad starter was fine, quite a good choice but main meal was sparse. Minimal meat served and vegetables nothing special. Roast potatoes were not really roast, cauliflower cheese (we suspect) was just a cheesey mush.
One of the party requested a vegetable curry--when it came it was a lot of liquid on the plate with a few veg. Choice of sweets was extremely poor -basically a choice of fresh cut up fruit salad or chocolate mint mousse, or apple pie and custard And that was it--not something that you would expect from a venue such as this. A few years ago the sweet choice was something to die for. Next time we will go to a Toby inn--much better value !

Arrived at the booking time was seated straight away. Told options for dinner and drink order taken. My husband and I had very quick and efficient service and always with a smile and some nice banter. There was no hovering and as it was a birthday treat for my husband he loved the nice ambience of the place. Alice and Andy made it a wonderful dining experience and went above and beyond to make it a very comfortable with pleasant experience. The only draw back was the red cabbage had cinnamon and star anise added to it with no warning and I am mildly allergic to it! Otherwise fantastic.

Thank you for choosing Moor Hall for your husband’s birthday treat, so pleased you enjoyed Moor Hall’s wonderful ambience, and our dedicated team helped to make your evening so special.

Adding cinnamon and star anise is part of the braising process, adding flavour to the cabbage, and I am sorry that you are mildly allergic to this. If you give us a few days notice prior to your next visit, Chef will ensure some red cabbage is prepared for you with no additives.

I do hope you will consider Moor Hall for future celebrations, when you can be assured of our very best attention.

Looking forward to going to the prestigious Moor Hall, using a voucher to experience the carvery.......Bread rock hard, inedible. Salad for starters, only if you want rice, cous cous or pasta, no tomatoes, no meat just roll mop herrings and cheese. The beef on the carvery was bleeding - not everyone enjoys undercooked meat. Cauliflower cheese looked really nice, struggled to get a portion as could not separate florets as again this vegetable was not cooked. Roast potatoes - not browned. All in all disappointed
