Had a birthday lunch here on a Saturday, we were a party of six adults and a 5 year old, the table was a little cramped in the corner but we managed. We were offered drinks and informed the soup of the day was carrot which two of our party ordered but didn't enjoy as it was carrot and coriander and was extremely thick. The Hors d'oeuvres were limited and not as good as a previous visit. The carvery was good and hot with the usual choice of veg but the Yorkshire puddings were dense and heavy. Two of our party wanted the fish but were not told it should be pre-ordered until they went to the carvery server, by the time the fish arrived the rest of us had nearly finished our meal. The desserts were disappointing too, ok if you like chocolate, pecans or fruit on the cold plate and only apple pie on the hot. Three in our party had the apple pie but for some reason had to wait for apple pie and ice cream whilst the one with custard came out straight away, this meant again waiting whilst people finished they're food. We were served coffee and tea but the milk tasted of washing up liquid and was to be honest disgusting and ruined the end of the meal. Overall a very disappointing meal from an establishment that should and can do better.
On a positive note the maitre 'd was very good but i'm sorry to say it was the younger staff that let us down.
