What a wonderful find.

Imagine a historically restored carriage house, Jane Austen
Real ale house in the heart of the Royal town of Sutton coldfield.

After a freezing, cold winter walk with my puppy this was a freezing life saver.

Thank you welcoming landlord, intelligent , friendly clientele and the warmth of
The west Midlands with that earthy class that is priceless.

England at it's finest. How ....
Unexpected after recent experience s.

Take a walk through history and enjoy it too.

Quirky layout with 3 or 4 areas separated by an alleyway that forms another part. Multiple TVs showing sport. Lots of different types of tables to sit at. Serves food and have eaten here before (good) but not this time

Friendly and good service.

Hadnt been in this place for about 20 years and obviously some changes made. Firstly there was a roof over the cobbled footway between the 2 bars and a pleasant atmosphere which is always welcoming. The place is split into several smaller rooms with darts in one and TV showing sport in the other as well as the traditional bar and eating area.

We were very impressed with the Kingston press cider and the good range of real ales so much so we had to sample more than one!

We had food there which was sensibly priced and wholesome and letting it go down consumed more ales.

The downside to this is that the pub does live music and in not too large an area so very loud. Sorry to say we left as this was not our bag but nothing against the pub and hospitality afforded.

Will return and look forward to that day.

If you're around Sutton Coldfield town and fancy a drink and a reasonably priced meal, try The Three Tuns, Sutton Coldfield.
We went in early one weekday evening and ordered a snack that was excellent. They served Nachos as a starter, which was delicious and enough for two. I then had a simple snack, baked potato with chilli and cheese, which was fresh, and excellent value. The drinks are also reasonably priced. This is a very old pub, the oldest in Sutton, and also has sports coverage, and live bands.
Recommended, so give it a go one evening.

Visited yesterday for lunch, pleasantly surprised good value and service, the food was of good sized portions ,recommend All day breakfast and Prawn Mayo Jacket Potato great price for around a fiver each, the only let down was the coffee at £2.50 a small cup not worth that price, did complain that it was cold(they did replace it with one that was hot),suggest they get a decent coffee maker,We have been to Weatherspoons and you get a large cup for around £1.30,All in all did enjoy the surroundings like stepping back in time and it does beat the chain pubs, probably one of the best pubs in Sutton, well worth a visit....
