It is many years since I was here with the Belvoir Cricket Club on a beautiful, typically English summer's day.
My abiding memory is of the mountaineering course required to ascend to the Score Box set in the roof! Not an elegant ascent with short skirt, skimpy top and all male audience to contend with!
As I remember, it was an excellent game, played in good spirit by both teams and with a mid-innings tea worth descending to the tea room for.
One of the most picturesque grounds in the country I should imagine, within Burghley Park, the House adding an elegant backdrop.
