We were visiting the area and came across this lovely country pub. The landlord fitted us in at short notice and we had delicious fish and chips.
The ambience was very good, but the serving staff were not especially friendly except the landlord himself who seemed like he was making up for it!!
Drinks a bit pricey but unfortunately that seems to be the case in pubs today.

Table of 11 for Sunday lunch, almost felt like private dining, superb round table in a room just off the lounge. Our first visit on holiday and it had two separate recommendations in the visitor book so went along. Superb food, great service and wish I didn’t live 150 miles away. “Picture postcard “ inn, real ale, roaring log fire, candles lit, dogs asleep, what more could you ask for. Even the kids behaved !

We visited on a wet windy Friday evening. What a warm friendly welcome by Paul
(Landlord )and his smiling staff .
I had recently broken my leg and was struggling but they could not have been more helpful .
The meal was good simple food which we all thoroughly enjoyed in a warm atmosphere thank you .
We always recommend the Bryerstones
