If you are looking for a superb pub meal in a warm, welcoming atmosphere, definitely take a taxi out here! Specials are sublime (dressed crab salad was a highlight) and staples are great too (steak pie). Smaller portions for the latter would be an advantage as my partner couldn't finish it. Owner couldn't be back nicer!

having been last autumn we decided to call again and the standards are as high as ever we had ham eggs chips and a salad for under 12 pounds each, the salad was amazing tomatoes, cucumber, radish. orange slices. starfruit. grapes. onion slices. a leek. amazing tasty and colourful dish, very filling and the toffee butter ice cream was fantastic for dessert as well, the owners are a very amiable couple. very pleasant and obliging and the log fire is perfect. fantastic country pub, in short the ideal pub for an ideal meal.

Absolutely, first class. Comfortable warm retreat on a cold evening. Open log fire, generous well cooked food. Dog friendly and professional friendly service. The Haddock was the catch of the day, lovely light crispy batter, chips like they should be. I would recommend, 10 out of 10.

We are visiting our son in Scarborough and he has just taken us to the Bryherstones inn, he hasn’t been before but booked it based on previous reviews. What a find. Really lovely food, excellent variation on choice - we only managed a starter and main as so full, although the pudding options looked equally delicious. The staff are really nice and friendly and the owner comes round and checks everything ok as well which is a nice touch. Only criticism from my husband is the limited choice of cask ales - small price to pay

We first came to The Bryherstones Inn while on a family holiday in July 2016. We were very impressed and enjoyed the beautiful home cooked food. We also loved the setting and seeing the cows across the road in the fields reiterating the local farm foods they used.

Or second visit was again while we were on a family holiday and it just outdid our first visit. Again the food was beautiful and home cooked plus the portions are very generous meaning we couldn't physically eat all 3 courses as we were too full!

The staff were very friendly and tentative, nothing was too much trouble for them. The pool table was an added bonus as it gave us a little bit on entertainment while our table was being prepared (we were early). Such an amazing little country/rustic pub. If only we didn't live 4 hours away otherwise we would certainly be making regular visits! Next time we are in the area we will coming in for hopefully another fantastic meal.
