We cam for an early dinner here, before an event nearby. The welcome was warm and friendly as we walked in and we were shown to a table and asked for drinks. The place has a nice, relaxed feel - modern without trying too hard to be chic.

We had just main courses as we pushed for time: venison steak, chicken and bacon tagliatelle and lamb tagine. All three were very good - the tagine was particularly tasty. The tagging was served in a separate bowl with roast potatoes and skewers of vegetables on the plate, the presentation matched the quality. I tried the venison too - cooked medium, it was nicely pink in the centre and delicious.

The service was really friendly and prompt (although there were very few guests at this time, so I can’t comment on how it would be when busy). All in all, this get a big, positive “yes” from us as a recommendation.

Had eaten extremely well whist out there so expectations were still at a high level. Certainly didnt disappoint. A large car park made parking easy and although due to the time - 3.00 p.m. it was very quiet an excellent meal was served up. It is unusual to find frog's legs on a pub menu and they were very good. The rabbit pie though was absolutely first rate. I left being not too down on having to eat English fare again. It will only go downhill from here though.

Meeting a friend for lunch before a football match, we'd picked The Frog and Rhubarb on the strength of its online reviews alone, not being from the Luton area. It was a great choice!

It's easy enough to find, just a couple of minutes drive off the M1, with a good sized car park opposite on the other side of the road. The area is quiet, with a number of other well-appointed businesses neighbouring the pub.

We'd arrived a little before the official opening time of 12 noon, but the staff let us in out of the cold and showed us to a good table in the corner.

The service was excellent, courteous, efficient and unobtrusive - just what you want in a decent gastropub like this - recommendations were offered and gratefully accepted.

The two pasta dishes were splendid - tasty, but not over spiced; generous, but not too heavy a portion; well-priced, but good value for money.

I must complement the Frog and Rhubarb on every element of our visit - service, food, ambience, decor and character.

A splendid experience.

Never lets me down! Staff are so friendly and happy to help doesn't feel forced or like they have a script to stick too. Great people! And even better food my personal favourite is the pies! Although I had a burger on the visit and it was delicious, moist and full of flavour! Even better then some restaurants that just only make burgers couldn't believe it. My partner has the belly pork and he couldn't get enough of it! The crackling was just perfect and crisp.

Can't wait to go back and try their day time lunch menu which is new! So exciting.

Thank you again for a lovely time!

My Wife and I visited on a weekday to try out the new lunch/afternoon menu which is available from Noon until 6pm.

The food was freshly prepared, tasty and reasonably priced. The young man who served us was polite, helpful and a credit to the management.
